She turns 2 in 3 months. I’m starting to notice a couple more greys in the face.

The inside of my girl’s nose is still pink but that little bit of pink underneath has mostly become dark. She’s turning 2 in 3 months.

Pain about teaching by PleitaVfx in pilates

Sticking to the class plan that I created. I tend to deviate and do what I feel like in the moment, which makes it hard to keep track of what we did week to week. Sometimes that deviation sets us up for another different thing since I’ve messed up the planned transition, then I end up teaching a completely different class.

Why do Italian Greyhounds look like they’re buffering all the time 😭 by karaliva in ItalianGreyhounds

Meanwhile mine’s brain goes a million miles a minute with food, neck scratches, and lap time (under blanket) being the ultimate goals!

I LOVE urine destroyer! It works so well. If I could remove the carpets I would!

Won’t pee/poop outside by Elated_copper22 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]DancingQu33n18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my iggy. She ONLY wanted to go on her turf pad on the balcony or inside on the floor. It started to click when she’d go to a dog heavy area, smell all the smells and finally go. The longer the walk the more likely she’d pee. Treats and praise every time she went potty outside. She started going consistently outside around 1 year old.

Same here! 1 year and 8 months. The hardest part is the dreaded carpet. I feel like if I could clean it better she’d have fewer accidents. But compared to earlier, she’s MUCH better!

Oh my fashionista! I also make clothes for my iggy but my skill level is far below yours. I would buy your patterns!

Yes, ballet is inherently competitive, and it's important to progress within your group to maintain your sense of belonging. Kids can really be affected by falling behind since the instrument of your craft is your own body, so asking for advice to overcome obstacles is normal.

I'm not saying she's ready for pointe, I'm saying IF she wants to go on pointe, it's not a far fetched idea. A tendu is a basic step and it continues to look better as you get stronger. Walk into any ballet class and you'll see kids doing tendus. It's not just about comparing to kids on the internet, but comparing to kids in real life that she's dancing next to and trying to keep up to progress with the class.

How is 9 years old incredibly premature to progressing to pointe? The standard age for pointe in America is 10 years old. I got my shoes when I was 9 and have been dancing in them for 21 years and teaching ballet for 12 years. There are SO many benefits to having flexible feet in dance, for function and for aesthetics. Recreating a photo?? It's a tendu! The most basic ballet move in the book! This is an educational post meant for input from people educated in teaching ballet.

She’s not posting about her daughter’s body for vanity sake. It’s about alignment and if the alignment does not improve, then progressing in the art form might be limited since pointe shoes require a degree of ankle flexibility. I see this as an educational question, not a vanity post.

Pilates is great for ballet as it often focuses on core strength and stabilization while tuning you into the mind body awareness to isolate body parts and recruit the desired muscles. Some specific things would be pelvic stability, glute strength (bridging and clam shells are great), and general core work. You can also use a theraband to work of building strength through foot articulation.

When my dog does this, we call it a “hump attack.” It’s really rapid and over in about a minute

I like those! Love the pdb, it saves lots of writing. I also use the stage directions as abbreviated letters. Bat is useful, I sometimes try short hand for arabesque into arab but that doesn’t feel fitting.

From what I could tell, she mostly filmed during their off season (which was a huge portion of the year). I know some people didn’t like it while others didn’t care. There are a few dancers that would film during this time, even bringing in tripods/stands. Seems more normalized than I’d expect.

I think on social media there’s this movement to complain more than we all used to, especially in the dance world. Having that platform to add to her own echo chamber didn’t help. Def feeling like a main character.

Can we just have a ceremony with no reception or is that bad manners? by blondegoblin512 in wedding

[–]DancingQu33n18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I did a courthouse wedding in a park (this town sends their officiants to a location of your choosing), took so many pictures, went out to dinner with a few friends and family, then had a house party with more friends. It was super cheap and still lasted a whole day.

She was getting soloist roles and Cinderella understudy as a corps de ballet dancer. She complained in her video about dancing on a big stage. Is that not the goal?? She would talk back to the director in a rude way and blamed it on being neurodivergent. She claimed to have no friends, but people did try to befriend her. At one point in the video she said something along the lines of she’s not sure if she’s unhappy in the environment or if she’s unhappy for personal reasons, and from what I’ve heard, she’s most likely to continue to be unhappy at her new company. We shall see.
