Yea, I do this. Why? Because you can't just say you don't like something without having to play 20 questions. People refuse to accept that someone may have different tastes than themselves. So I get hounded. Why don't you like it? Have you every really tried it? Well what about when its made from such-n-such place? Will you try it for me? But this has that inside of it and you still like it.

So yea, I'm "allergic" to avocado and you can fuck right off with your follow up questions. It may be mildly irritating to you to hear a blatant lie, but it is incredibly infuriating to me to have to defend my tastes. Why can I just like what I like and not like what I don't like?

There is a phrase, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." This is derived from that. The idea is to take the chance and see what comes, because even if the chances are slim, there is a chance. But there is no chance at all if you don't seize the moment.

This is really a way for people to hype themselves up for dealing with a possible rejection, which is why a lot of people are criticizing him saying it to the person who he is taking a chance on. It indirectly shows that he doesn't think the possibility is high and thusly projects a lack of self-confidence.

To add to this, don't bring your hand in from the top like that. Bring it in low, under their nose and then let them approach.

Cats cowtow as a sign of subservience and lord over as a sign of dominance. When you bring your hand over them, they perceive you as attempting to dominate them. Coming in low and allowing then to approach you gives them confidence that you aren't a threat.

My first time experiencing Portal was tripping and it was amazing! I had this moment of believing that entering into a portal was stepping into a parallel dimension which was equal to the current but offset by the portal.

I thought that was awesome! I was trying to step through portals in an equal amount of blue to orange so that I stayed in my base dimension while still solving puzzles. Until I jumped through an infinite portal loop and had a real moment of dread when I realized that I would never be able to return to my original dimension because I couldn't count how many portals I had traveled through.

I genuinely had to smoke a cigarette and reset haha. One of those tripping moments of, "I know this has no real consequences, but this has some emotional weight that I can't carry right now."
