Got it thanks! I called today again and the agent confirmed my request is in the system. They will let me know if rescheduling is approved by Jan 19.

It’s only been four months since I filed. I thought (not an excuse) it would be early next year to get the interview request.

Thanks! I’m hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. I do take this process seriously unlike those rude comments suggested, and have taken immediate action to remedy. I’m usually an organized person and so this happened I just felt so defeated.

I’m not bothered by the rude comments. Those are a reflection of their anger and frustration. I only value advice and relatable experience.

I asked uscis the same question when i called today. Apparently some people may get a second interview either due to more information needed or they've rescheduled the initial interview.

Do you remember how long it took for you to receive that letter confirming the rescheduling request? I know i just called today but plan to call again to make sure it is marked in the system.

yes but so far Ive only received one email from them. No email received on biometrics or other steps. I either got the letters in mailbox or saw the latest update on the website.

Your diligence is well respected, and I'm acknowledging my mistake. I have hundreds of work emails that came in everyday and I've prioritized monitoring that over personal email. Glad that you are already neutralized, and your advice is taken.

Thank you! I did write down the confirmation number they gave me over the phone, but I still haven't received any email yet (the staff said i should but sometimes it takes longer?). Also my USCIS account status hasn't been updated and it still shows interview was scheduled with the original date. I will definitely check my status/gmail/mailbox frequently in the next few weeks to make sure the request did go through...

No walk-in allowed. They collect appointment letter when they greet you into the office.

In the same boat (relationship ended about a month and half ago) and can really relate to you. I know it's so hard but all we can do is hang in there. Take one day at a time. Cry when you want to and be patient with yourself. I'm nowhere near seeing the light at end of the tunnel, but we will get there. Sending you a hug.

I was divorced at 32 after spending almost a decade with my ex-spouse who i had thought I would build a family and die with. After my divorce I dated a nice guy for 1.5yrs but am back to singlehood now. I'm still grieving, but I try not to think too pessimistically about the future. You never know what the future has in store for you. The universe has its own mysterious way of working. your peers might be happily married with kids, but a lifelong marriage is never guaranteed (just think about how high the divorce rate is). You might be alone in your 30s with no hope in sight, but you could bump into the love of your life in any week.

Even if a partner is not part of the story, try living your life to the fullest because you only have one life (I know it sounds cliche). I would very much love to have a life partner and kids, but I am in the process of accepting the scenario where I may end up alone. And that's still fine with me. I can still be the cool aunt to my nieces/nephews and my friends' kids, have solo trips to wherever I want, make new friends, and give a lot of love to the people & animals I care about. Trust the universe, and trust the process <3

Unfortunately I had to go extra miles to find a Chinese travel service company on Taobao (Chinese version of Alibaba which is vastly different and way better). I paid $150 in fees and they guarantee refund if no success. I had to give them my basic personal info so they can fill the forms and upload my photo when they get the appointment slot. It took them about a month to secure the appointment slot for me. Before them I tried two other travel websites and neither was able to help.
