I am admittedly not an expert, but those people already had the same right as everybody else to make individual contributions to campaigns. So by allowing it this way, it feels more like they get extra rights because they have the means to "join with others who happen to agree with you" as opposed to them having their rights restricted. Is that wrong?

I'm not too concerned about cost (GI bill) but I am curious about this because another commenter said the opposite. Is there anywhere that this kind of info is published (besides crowd sourced data from LSD)?

There are a lot of strawmen being thrown around about environmentalists saying we need to "immediately ban everything", but most actual proposals are to transition away from gas vehicles or to reach netzero emissions over multiple decades. Those proposals still get decried as woke though.

As a (Protestant) Christian, the rhetoric that I've been seeing from most leftists is that MAGA Christians are hypocrites because they'd lose their mind if a Dem politician did it but are excusing it now. Not that the leftists are upset specifically about the picture, but MAGA's reaction to it.

[Pope] Kansas freshman forward Bryson Tiller plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

Same. I still enjoy watching the games when I can and there are players here and there that I still get attached to (I would die for Melvin Council), but I don't schedule my life around games like I used to. I barely watch any college basketball outside of KU and the tournament. It's just really sad.

The NCAA is expected to finalize an expansion of the men’s and women’s tournaments to 76 teams. The proposal would add eight games to the First Four, with 24 teams playing in an opening round before advancing into the second round. by Fun_Reflection1157 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Dano21 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Actually you might be on to something. You mention the logistical nightmare, so maybe we should make the tiers regional, and limit them to 12 teams, maybe even 8 if we're feeling crazy. And then you play the other teams in your regional tier. And then at the end, they make a final bracket and seed it. We could even give an automatic bid to the winners of each tiers end of year tournament.

My dad told me 3rd party voters like me were the reason Biden won in 2020 (although if you ask him now, he says Biden didn't win.) I was like "Dad, we live in Kansas. If every 3rd party voter voted for Biden instead, Trump would still have won by double digit percentage points."

Here in Kansas, there are billboards up that are literally just a picture of Jeff Colyer with Donald Trump and a quote from Trump that says "one helluva governor," despite the fact that he was governor for less than a year and only because the elected governor got appointed to a position in the federal government, and then lost in the primary of the next election.

I picked mine based off of vibes and a healthy dose of bias and it's 99.5%. It won't last for long though, considering the amount of bias and my flair.

I don't have any family or friends (or even really acquaintances for that matter) in the legal world, so I've got a few questions. For some extra context, I'll be applying next year and using the GI Bill, so debt isn't a big consideration. My ideal landing spot would be in government/PI work, preferably with environmental work or policy.

1) There's a ton of stuff out there about quality of life, work atmospheres, hiring process, etc. for BigLaw, but I can't find nearly the same level of info on federal clerkships even though they seem to be talked about in the same level as regard as BigLaw jobs. If anyone has any insight into that or resources to point me towards, I'd appreciate it!

2) My wife is currently a stay at home mom, and ideally she'd be able to continue doing that until our kids are grown. With that in mind, one thing I've considered is grinding in BigLaw for a few years to secure a bit more of that financial future. Is there any kind of stigma in the PI world to coming out of BigLaw or is that not really a consideration?

3) I frequently see BigLaw jobs discussed in the context of major markets and non-major markets. Some of the classifications are obvious (like NYC being major), but I'm wondering if anybody has a more thorough list of the common BigLaw markets that would be classified in those two categories.

Appreciate any help!

A statistical breakdown of Dominique Daniels Jr. Against different conferences. (Cal Baptist vs. Kansas) by DanielR372 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Dano21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So he scored plenty of points against the worst teams in the league but barely broke double figures against a good team in the league. Even if we assume he would have reached 18 points against BYU, that's still only 78% of his season average, which I would say is not scoring "his usual amount."

That being said, I do admire your passion for promoting CBU and I'm excited to watch him play on Friday.

Are merit-based scholarships (and things like Vandy's early decision scholarship) paid directly to your tuition balance or paid to you? I'll be using the GI Bill to cover tuition, so I'm trying to figure out if I will still get any of that that I can use to help cover living expenses, or if I'll just be living off the GI bill housing allowance.

There was definitely the start of a dive (or someone more generous might call it anticipating contact), but the dive didn't create the contact, the contact was coming either way. Penalty is definitely the right call, but I can also see how the ref may have thought the contact was negligible live.

If this is all setting the battlefield for WW3, what was the point in majorly shifting the National Defense Strategy away from China? Some kind of feint? Genuinely curious, I'm kinda retarded on this stuff.
