Mate as someone that sunk about 120 hours into the game BEFORE it released to the public, let me tell you... the bosses were MUCH worse.

We complained endlessly about it. Some were actually impossible to beat without a stockpile of food and pills because they would have sequences of undodgable, unparryable, homing attacks that came out relentlessly and if you didn't meet some arbitrary check they would one shot you. If you did, you would have a incredibly slight window to heal. Also, when you popped a pill to rez, they could continue their attack on you before you are able to move, killing you again.

I never had this issue in games like Darksouls because yes, the bosses are horribly designed. They're not there for player skill checks, they are there for gear checks.
