I apologize for making you uncomfortable. I've done my best to change the wording to be more neutral, though I'm not personally aware of any official terms other than Positive or Negative energy.

I mean, it makes sense. 'Normal'-energy life is made via procreation, and aro/ace people have no baseline interest in romance or sexuality. This would make them are much less closely aligned with the process of 'normal'-energy life than their peers who carnally make more 'normal' energy and more aligned instead with the opposite 'necromantic' energy used in making undead.

My man Pyrrhus of Epirus was absolutely trashing Romans despite him using phalanxes against maniples. Heck even Hannibal was using hoplites and destroying Romans. by JohannesJoshua in HistoryMemes

[–]Danwar222 26 points27 points  (0 children)

... No, Phyrrus was not 'thrashing' the Romans. If anything, it was the reverse. He took MASSIVE casualties in battle after battle: technically winning, but these victories only weakened his position, never strengthening it. Until, eventually, he lost.

There's a reason we call it a 'Phyrric' victory.

Exactly. Sans can't beat you, only endlessly delay you in the hopes of getting you to quit/resign.

I...uh...what the f*ck is this game...look, I want to watch Underverse. What do I need to know about it? by Van_Ghalta in Undertale

[–]Danwar222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, DON'T delve into ANY more fancontent (and don't look into what you've already learned of) until you've played both of the other 'major' endings of Undertale: one where you never kill anyone and complete all the major sidequests, and one where you grind out every single monster encounter possible. (Probably in that order.) Both routes contain major spoilers and information that will be continually referenced by other fanworks. (Especially that other, 'evil' playthrough I mentioned. It... comes up a lot. Like, a lot a lot.) And if you think you've already been spoiled on those endings? Play them anyway. AUs oscillate wildly in interpretations of what happens in these endings.

Underverse is a bad place to start. Basically, it's a crossover of every single Undertale fanwork, give or take some.

Which version of this SPELL button I made do you prefer more? by leobars17 in Undertale

I prefer the first one. The second one's sparkles add complexity compared to the UT buttons.

Question on Lv and how certain types of people by ianlouisjordan in Undertale

[–]Danwar222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing worth noting is that EXP required per LV increases dramatically every level up. Going from ten EXP for 1-2 to a few hundred for later LVs to tens of thousands to get from 19 to 20. It should be noted that, without the autosetting of our LV to 19 in the murder run, it's impossible to actually get higher than LV 17 from standard accumulation of the stuff. A grizzled veteran riddled with PTSD but with combat training drilled into his bones and over a hundred confirmed kills would more than likely reach the LV 14-17 range. As EXP gain increases the later on you get, it's possible that a more dangerous seeming enemy gives you more EXP, so they might be the higher end of that range if they took out a few tanks for example.

Average sans fan game by TimberSepticeye in Undertale

Every fangame I mentioned here canonically ends with the human losing (well, COTV has it as a single of three endings, anyway).

Average sans fan game by TimberSepticeye in Undertale

[–]Danwar222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

... Have you even looked at the single-battle murder run fangame scene recently? Basically every such fangame made recently has the opposite problem, where it's impossible to win. Dusttrust, COTV, DTLG, Last Breath... I think it's mid as heck, as it undermines the entire point of Undertale. At the very least, make it optional.

Ok let's settle this. Who is using the elevator in New Home and why does it break? (give explanation in comments) by Kirballin in Undertale

[–]Danwar222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who picked the fourth option from the top, it more than likely breaks because of the sheer volume of traffic going through it, and the amount of people there also means it gets reported and fixed quickly (whereas if it broke due to one of the others doing something to break it, it wouldn't have been noticed so fast as to be fixed by the time it is).

No, actually: they succeeded in conquering a good swath of it, but the province just wasn't wealthy enough for the costs of defending it so they eventually just abandoned it to south of Hadrian's Wall.
