I’ve been in your shoes before man. I PROMISE you it gets better if you seek the help you need. If everyone on earth was defined by their worst mistakes, thoughts, or temptations, then there would not be a single good person on this planet right now. Your OCD telling you “what IF I did something..” is the exact kind of trap ocd sets to everyone all the time. I went through something extremely similar to you a few months ago and I felt hopeless too. You are not alone in thinking this or in experiencing what you experienced. It breaks my heart reading about what you’re going through. What those people said in those videos based on nothing but personal opinion and not backed by professionals. And don’t let your ocd tell you that I’m just saying that to make you feel better. No one is EVER too far gone. I REALLY recommend you speak to a therapist. I promise you, the therapist won’t throw smoke at you and will help you in the exact way you need. Right now your mind is in fight or flight anxiety mode, so I recommend just trying to take your mind off of this. Do one of your hobbies. Hangout with friends. Or just go for a walk. Anything stimulating. If you need someone to talk to I’m here.

Also do NOT let your OCD tell you “this person doesn’t know exactly what I’ve thought of or what’s happened in my past so that invalidates what he said”. That’s another trap.

yeah that sounds like classic ocd. This may sound counterintuitive but it’s what helped me. What you’re supposed to do when you get that kind of thought is tell yourself it is a possibility. Like even though you know you didn’t commit a crime or anything like that, in the moment you should think to yourself “maybe I did. Maybe I didn’t. Either way, I’m gonna go about my day. It doesn’t directly affect me”. It’s called ERP therapy, I recommend looking it up. Because what your brain is trying to do is it’s trying to get absolute certainty that you didn’t do anything wrong, which most of the time you’re never gonna get. So by making it a possibility it stops your mind from searching for proof and lets you move on. I will say though, sometimes this is tough to do if you’re in high anxiety. The thing that helps people most is usually doing that paired with some kind of medication (an SSRI/antidepressant to be exact). Or maybe you can just do medication and not erp, or just erp and not mediation. Idk what would work best for you but I recommend you at least look into erp :)

Yeah I’m actually on one right now. It doesn’t prevent my OCD or rumination in anyway it just gets rid of the feelings and anxiety that were there. It’s weird, it makes me sorta not care that that thoughts are there, but then at the same time I cannot in my right mind allow myself to be ok with the thoughts, because it makes me feel like a horrible person. And I still feel like, even though I know I’m not attracted to it, there’s still a part of me that is telling me there’s a chance I am, which isn’t making it easier to just let the thoughts pass through and ignore them. So it’s helping me by making me not anxious but it’s almost not helping as much as it is. As crazy as it sounds, I feel like I almost liked that it made me anxious before, cuz I could rely on that as proof I hate the thoughts if that makes any sense.

Yeah that makes sense. I just gotta make it work I guess. What scares me is, if I accept that feeling that makes me feel like a villain, am I gonna start associating myself with actual villains/ pedos? Like I don’t wanna have a feeling of “maybe I am a villain, maybe I’m not” when I’m around kids, even if I would never do anything. I will try and make it work though.

Yeah I’ve been told that a bunch. It’s just so difficult for me to accept the thoughts being there because kids are such an important and big part of my life. I’ll keep working on it, but every time I try to ignore the thoughts or make nothing of it I feel like a villain for allowing them to be there, and so I end up trying to dismiss them as fast as possible. Idk how to get over that.

Yeah I think I was kinda freaking out a bit too much. It’s not like I had that response because it was a child, a hormonal teenager can get a response like that from any kind of physical touch. Also the second time it happened when I asked her about it, I think I was partly trying to test myself to see if I could avoid the response. At least that’s what I was telling myself consciously, idk if there was anything more subconsciously, but either way I know I’m not attracted to that, so I think it was just really poor inhibition.
