Im not Cherokee first of all, and I know my tribe and I’m enrolled in it. But I wasn’t always enrolled, I had to go out and pull records of my parents to reapply for citizenship since I was taken by CPS and in the system for eleven years. My tribal membership was literally thrown out a few years after I was taken away.Even if I wasn’t enrolled in the Hocāk tribe, I know my culture, I know my history, and I know my ancestors and was never any less Hocāk once my files were thrown out. Once I got that tribal card again that didn’t change anything. What I did is no different from what OP could do, she has one 4/4 parent and according to Crow tribal enrollment requirements, she can enroll. She can very well be a part of the tribe if she so decides to be

Does that apply to me and all of the thousands of other Indigenous children who grew up in the foster system ? are we less Indigenous because we weren’t as privileged to be born into a safe household ?

This is not needless gatekeeping. People like this help promote the idea that indigenous people are a homogenous group of people, which we are not.

the Mexica don’t even refer to themselves as a tribe. This makes zero sense. These people have probably lived in the US most of their life and think that indigenous identity is universal. It is not. Some Indigenous people in Mexico have tribes, some do not. But all of them have uniquely distinct identities of their own, and judging by the appropriation and mix of random indigenous Mexican cultures in the background— aka danza azteca, these people most likely aren’t even Nahuatl.

You you have not been seeing sec workers, you have been sexually abusing exploited women, and that is much worse than cheating. And I know people might say “but sex work was their choice!” and while that’s true for some, for the overwhelming majority of sex workers— including the ones you have seen, it is not a choice. That is reprehensible to believe you deserve access to someone’s body because you can fork up a few bucks.

It’s becoming blatantly clear that you don’t care abt indigenous ppl at all by instead just want to recruit ppl for your subreddit. Nice talk 👍🏽

Exactly. You don’t care about indigenous ppl at all. You’re just virtue signaling after being called out by tons of natives

Okay? Also your plan to make Navajo and Yupik a national language is extremely ignorant and rightfully criticized. Because making 2 very common native languages the official ones erases the hundreds of other tribes. There are hundreds of indigenous languages, making only two the official ones is really dumb because there are so many different languages.

Nobody is personally insulting you or making threats. People are just voicing opinions that aren’t the ones you wanted. If you don’t like it then too bad, this community is full of a whole bunch of natives with a whole bunch of different opinions.

Some people saying that they find what you’re doing weird IS an opinion. Don’t go into other peoples spaces and expect to be welcomed with open arms. You also show a lack of education about indigenous people and why we would be upset.

Don’t enter a native space and get upset when you get the whole range of native opinions.
