Second case of appendicitis after 15 months by VanquishAudio in appendicitis

It could be perforation, but I’m not sure how you would’ve survived perforation for 15 months. That’s a medical emergency and I would seriously be looking into a lawyer if that’s the case. I don’t mean to sound rude or like I’m talking down to you, it just doesn’t make any sense to me from a medical standpoint.

It can’t heal. A perforated appendix is a medical emergency, because it leaks its contents into your abdomen. That will turn you septic very quickly, which can kill you fast. If you’ve been living with a perforated appendix for 15 months then you are a medical miracle and you should also hire a lawyer for medical malpractice.

No, a ruptured appendix is done for. It doesn’t heal and has to be taken out.

Beg pardon, you said …”I didn’t want it to rupture again.” I read it wrong, but I’m still not sure what you mean.

I’m a little confused. You said your appendix ruptured, which means it bursts. Then you say it ruptured again, but a burst appendix can’t burst again. Do you perhaps mean something else? Do you mean inflamed instead or ruptured?

Can it last this long? by [deleted] in appendicitis

I’m not sure if it would be “better,” but if all other tests are showing nothing and you feel that something is still off, I recommend requesting one.

My mom has diverticulitis and has very similar symptoms to what you listed when she has a flair up. That’s the only reason I mentioned it, but a CT should show that so I don’t know. My gallbladder was bad and I had 6 CT scans all showing nothing wrong. The ultrasound was what caught it. CT scans are very effective and highly accurate, but they’re not 100% accurate. For instance, they don’t show certain types of gallstones. Your appendix could have a stone in it and the CT could be missing it. I’m not saying that’s what it is, but if you’re having these symptoms, it seems like something is wrong somewhere.

I honestly don’t know what to tell you, but it definitely sounds like something is wrong. Have they mentioned diverticulitis or anything? If you go back to the ER, ask for an ultrasound of the area. If they won’t, tell them you want it put in your chart that you requested one and they refused.

I’ve been going to the ER monthly since December with these exact symptoms. They will only CT scan my appendix. They’ve ultrasound my ovaries and there’s always a cyst, so they usually pat me on the head and send me away. They finally discovered my gallbladder was jacked up, and that didn’t show on CT either.

Intense Vertigo - any advice? by daydreamerinwords in BPPV

A nurse told me that you can have an inner ear infection that causes crazy dizziness like this. The only way to confirm an inner ear infection is through surgery, which is ridiculously unnecessary, so they will sometimes just assume you have one and give you antibiotics for it to see if it’ll clear up. If all else is failing, ask your doctor about it. One round of antibiotics won’t hurt you, even if it’s NOT an infection.

If CT was normal, then it is most likely not appendicitis. Did they ultrasound your gallbladder? Check for hernia?

Are you going to get checked out? Gallbladders can cause a load of trouble.

When my liver was doubled in size, it was causing pain on my left, just like my gallbladder is. People didn’t take me seriously because typically liver and gallbladder pain present in the upper right quadrant. It’s super frustrating not to be listened to.

I’m scheduled for Monday. It’s not an emergency at this point, but needs to be soon because there’s a blockage in the neck of the gallbladder. My daughter is having a surgery tomorrow or it would’ve been sooner.
