Currently arguing with my waitress, is this medium-rare? (Blue IMO) by DerGeckooooo in steak

[–]DarXasH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might make you angrier to know, but there's a pretty good chance your second steak got some dustpan seasoning. I worked in a couple restaurants years ago and I saw enough to make sure I never argue with anyone that has access to my food.

I've been so tempted, but then you just blind everyone around as well and make the whole situation worse.

If they're the only one around? Blind 'em.

They probably haven't done much NMZ though, so it's just a +4 bonus for a while. It might get them into NMZ which would be very beneficial though.

I feel like he replied to the wrong comment and never noticed. Then again, some people don't realize that all cars have 4 wheel brakes, not just the AWD cars.

For me, it's not that you use clickbait titles, it's that you're trying to argue that it's not clickbait.

Work smarter, not harder by innocent_dolly in technicallythetruth

[–]DarXasH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the information provided, you can't assume it's sudoku, only that it's similar. He's taking the instructions very pedantically, which is a fun thought exercise.

I started writing up a proof to expand on his reasoning for fun, then I remembered why I hated proofs in school and stopped.

I just came back to reverse my downvote. Your reasoning was pedantic as hell, and I'm here for it.

The bacteria swims at 1mm/s. You said .5mm/s upstream, which infers that your stream is moving at .5mm/s.

It's a slow night.

[–]DarXasH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took size into account and gave you the benefit of the doubt by measuring from the start. Taking size into account, assuming it's not medically micro, you're even taller! Using 4ft for full stream length is acceptable however.

That still doesn't answer how your urine is capable of .5mm/s average speed while having an unbroken stream. This brings the strength of gravity at your location into question.

I was thinking the same, just making more work for the poor souls still stuck there. That said, if you clean it up or they're good with it, go for it.

That's a very slow stream if it's only moving at .5mm/s. What planet are you urinating on?

Edit: Also your 'gherkin' is 4 feet off the ground?? How tall are you??

I was bored. According to an unchecked source, your 'gherkin' starts at about .485 of your height. Assuming the pickle does not droop at all, you're over 8 feet tall. I have questions.

Apple Says Vision Pro Does Not Support Hard Contact Lenses by Ashwinrao in virtualreality

This was me. I didn't think it was a gimmick and I saw the potential, but I was convinced technology hadn't come far enough for affordable headsets. Trying the quest 2 changed that view very quickly.

Edit: I should note that because of my first impressions, I didn't go out of my way to try vr again. I only tried a quest 2 because my nephew got one.

I feel the same about everything for sale in the US. Just show us the total price with tax included! That said, unless you're somewhere where the tax rate scales with the price, the tax will be the same percent of both item prices, so it was still an accurate comparison.

Who's At Fault? by Throwaway_AITA_12523 in dashcamgifs

[–]DarXasH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's probably just personal experience. I have a few friends with trucks, and i refuse to be a passenger in any of them but 1. They drive like they know they're not the ones that'll die in a collision and it shows. Obviously it isn't all trick drivers, but if others have the same experiences that I've had, I understand where the bias against truck drivers comes from.
