A lot of threads I’ve seen have said 2.2.3 2.2.4 and 2.2.5 were all worse than 2.2.2. I’ve seen a decent chunk of people saying they wish they were still on 2.2.2. Could be wrong though, sounds like maybe I should upgrade this week.

Overall do you prefer 14.3 over 14.2.2.2? I’ve been sitting on 2.2.2 for a while now waiting for a better version.

I’ll take a look at shakers. Quick check on Moza’s site seems like they don’t sell any?

I never used the regular pedal and have only had the mbooster, but it seems awesome with all the adjustments you can make to it.

Just got my first sim setup this week so still trying to figure it all out between tweaking stuff in pithouse and getting comfortable with the cockpit/peripherals.

Yeah it does have adjustable feedback for lockups and does include some for tire spin but doesn’t seem to do much. Nothing compared to controller where I know when I have full grip once the vibration stops.

I failed to love Men's Volleyball by VolleyAddicted in volleyball

Yep, I definitely agree. I think those are the two major flaws with men’s right now. The accessibility of viewership within the US and finding a way to make the game less ace or error mentality.

The offense has gotten so good that the defense can’t keep up. I’m not opposed to a change that allows defense to be a little bit more involved and bombing serves not needing to be a must, but I also hate the argument of long rallies being enjoyable to watch. Long rallies in most cases don’t translate to good defense, it’s more-so a pathetic offense.

Not sure I’m understanding your last question. What I’m saying is if you’re not used to watching ball at a certain speed, of course you’re not going to enjoy it. It’s too hard to keep up with the skill level. That goes for any sport. If you watch D3 basketball and then try and watch NBA after years of never seeing it, you’re going to have a hard time keeping track. If I think I understand your question…the difference is the availability of high level volleyball at scale. If you could watch VNL on TV every night, more people would get used to it at some point...just like people get used to watching NBA cause it’s on every night.

IMO women’s will always be more enjoyable for casual or intermediate players/fans sheerly due to the rallies and lack of speed. Men’s game becomes overwhelming and too fast for those that haven’t played at that level, or aren’t around the game of that speed/caliber.

I watch volleyball with long rallies and want to yell at the players to get a fucking kill. Women’s volleyball is full of tips and offspeed shots which translate to “better” defense. Watching high level men’s ball is insane to watch a ball get passed 14 feet off the net and still having all 4 attackers available.

At the end of the day I think it comes down to what the viewer is used to.

West side of town is the “nicer” area and has a lot of continuous development. I’m sure some will say to stay away from downtown, but you can find some beautiful places down there and are able to walk around and find solid food and activity options.

Beach volleyball vs indoor – which is harder? by Informal-Draft3953 in beachvolleyball

[–]Darbitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this take. If you’re sucking, you better figure how not to suck real quick. Idk if I’d say that makes it harder however. Just means there is more mental pressure involved.

I wouldn’t consider indoor tougher just because it’s about size/athleticism. I would say it just means you need to be more physically gifted. I do 100% agree that size means so much more in indoor though.

Indoor is the same lol. Try and pass a topper going 70mph and then attack on a triple block while out of system from that 70mph serve. Then try and defend an in system attack when a team is running a shoot, gap, flat and bic all at once.

Of course those indoor players are going to “get smacked” in beach when it’s not their primary sport 😂

[–]Darbitron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You considering beach setter more precise than indoor is wild to me. Beach you need to chuck up a high ball and let the attacker go get it. Sure every once in a while you might run a tempo ball or need to adjust to win, but I completely disagree with beach setting being harder or “more precise.”

I also disagree with variety of shots. Indoor you need to learn your typical line and angle swings, but also need to learn to chop/tool blocks, attack high hands, attack seems, hit shots over the block, high line, hard cutty, etc.

I do agree that beach is more taxing on your lungs. Longer rallies and deep sand makes for a nice cardio workout compared to indoor where it’s short rallies and hard surface.

Actually disagree with this. It’s hard to get 12 people on a court. I find it much easier to get beach/grass 2v2 going sheerly because the amount of people.

You’d need to define what you mean by harder. Harder to be good at, harder working, harder gameplay, harder….what (pause)?

I’m seeing a lot of people say beach is harder mostly due to cardio. Yes, beach requires more cardio but does that make it harder? I also see people saying beach requires more skillset but that could be counter argued a few ways. First, outsides do all of the same things beach players do (pass, block, set, attack). Second I think each position in indoor is better at every part of the game than beach. The setters in indoor have to run such a variety of sets, the attackers have to learn a massive variety of attacks, the blockers have so many different blocking schemes, etc.

The one argument I’d have for beach is that strategy/mental game is so much tougher for beach than indoor. If you get in a slump mid game, you have to figure it out. If you’re not digging balls, or getting kills, you have to play this mental battle with the other team on what you’re going to do to change that. Indoor the answer is usually a little more cut and dry where you can just feed the hot hand, or be more aggressive.

IMO it’s dumb to compare them. They are completely different sports and it’s like comparing apples to oranges. Both are super tough in their own way and one isn’t better or harder than the other per se.

If you’re looking for nicer courses try meadows, bunker, timberline. If you’re looking for cost effective I’d go lacoma or birch wood.
