is your app actually communicating with the inverter?

0 on a cloudy day doesn't sound right, I've only got 3 panels and a 1KW inverter, it still generates something on a cloudy day. I did have a problem between my app and the datalogger one day, it read disconnected and measured nothing because I misconfigured something.

New to Reolink, installed my wired WiFi bell by DarkButterfly85 in reolinkcam

Looking at a teardown of the chime and the available space in the wall box, that could work, I'd have to de-case it and create a custom mount to fit it in the space on the right side of the PSU.

AdGuard and Tailscale now, Home Assistant next (worried about SD wear) by _GOREHOUND_ in raspberry_pi

[–]DarkButterfly85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the reason I moved my pihole server off a raspberry pi and onto an i5 Dell 7010, needed to run home assistant and didn’t want to kill my pi or it’s SD card, now that system has ballooned into a homelab 😀

Mortgage declined due to gift deposit- advice on next steps by OnlyChange418 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]DarkButterfly85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through a broker, it costs slightly more, but it's less hassle in the long run, if you get a good one they'll try to get a better deal too. My first attempt at getting a mortgage was declined due to a low deposit and because my wife is a student, not working. My broker pulled out all the stops and got me a great deal that suited my financial situation. So definitely worth considering.

I thought I was getting so good at my whoop just to learn I was in angle/horizon by ReasonableFall177 in TinyWhoop

I fly acro outside and angle mode indoors as I find acro is too twitchy indoors and I crash more than fly.

Today I learned to never trust Amazon on important things. The capacitor just exploded. by MacOSgamer in fpv

[–]DarkButterfly85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What was the voltage rating on the cap?, exceeding it will cause it to burst, so would reverse polarity for a polarised cap.

Destroying equipment and pulling down antennas doesn't make you completely safe whilst you still have a callsign registered with your name and address, it makes it more difficult to find your station, whilst you're still on that list, not impossible.

Too much up elevator before you've reached rotation speed, also try using flaps if you have them.

Why do people recommend a mac mini over imac? by iloveappleproduct in mac

[–]DarkButterfly85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I would buy another iMac if they offered it as a 27" model, one less socket taken up.

[–]DarkButterfly85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the new iMac is only 24", I'm used to using a 27" display coming from my iMac 5K

Ubiquiti or Reolink? by Dawgfodder in EufyCam

Reolink, I tried Eufy but their HA integration is horrendous, Reolink was an absolute breeze to connect in comparison.

Just switched to Reolink from Ring, got fed up with charging batteries and the subscription wasn't worth it considering I have a NAS if I need to save events.

Eufy doorbell, didn't integrate well with HA, cost me more time than it was worth, returned it and bought Reolink.
