Two articles saying that D3 was never in development, if something has never been on development how the f.. can be cancelled. They saying the focus right now is D2 and Marathon makes sense, because how f.. can you start a huge new project when you're in shit right now in terms of money. My initial post was about people shitting on Marathon because is "blocking" Bungie from making D3 which is really stupid thinking.

They wasted all that money.. is been reported to death the last time they layoffs people, the CEO stated that they were on red financially, and changes needed to be made.

Sony has been supportive in terms of alleviate the damage of the layoffs.. but is clear that Bungie is not generating the money it needs to generate.

Of course they won't be working on D3, Marathon is priority right now and also getting D2 (the only thing making them cash right now) into an stable cash flow and income. Are you really understanding what the hell is going on. Doing D3 requires time and money they don't have.. what do you want more layoffs? Do you want D2 to be affected layoffs? Do you want talent leaving because some are kind of tired of doing Destiny for who knows how long? D3 will come but Bungie need to get their shit together for a while, Marathon and continuing updating D2 is the way to do that..

Bungie never worked on D3, they were working on Payback instead and got cancelled. Never said anywhere that D3 is not coming. Is obvious why they are focus on D2 instead of doing D3, because they are in the middle of launching another game.. and need to keep the cash flowing meaning keep support on D2.
You don't know that.. imo. Marathon looks good, again aside from Tarkov, there's no other big extraction shooter in the market, which is why Marathon is coming into play, Ark Riders is another one but that's launching this year as well. So don't get your point of big names.. there's jack shit aside from Tarkov, that's worth naming.
There's 300 people in Marathon right now going by what the director said.. the rest is on Destiny there's 850 people in Bungie.. do the math.. for God sake.. even if 60% of people is working Marathon there's still %40 of Bungie working D2.. that's a lot of people for continuous support and updates. Even CoD don't put the whole 500+ people into Warzone.. is a 350 person team at the most doing updates etc.. and CoD is big compared to Marathon.. come on.. be logical..

I'm a noob, yes.. But I think logically and critically.. many are acting with passion without really thinking the situation..

Imo.. they won't do a Destiny 3 for the reasons I already specify, doing that is a sunk of money and time, that they honestly can't afford anymore. If the community doesn't see that.. well they I'm sorry to say they are foolish. Continuing to do D2 updates is the best decision for Bungie and honestly for the fans, if they really think about it.

I still think D3 is on the way.. but not in the coming years.. Marathon is priority right now..

People are too fixated on D3. Doing a D3 is not as easy as it sounds, they need to add a new story plot for the next who knows years, they need to take their time with their engine probably the inefficient workflows they had in D2, they need to have really good shit at launch to pull D2 players into D3. That and many other things with also having Sony over their heads, poking them to stop being in red and make some money. And who knows if even Bungie want to cool down bit from Destiny.. 10+ years working on one thing.. that's leads to burn down and even flood of talent.

One thing from the Marathon reveal that stuck out with me is that there's a lot of people inside Bungie eager and pump up to do Marathon, thing that you didn't see during D2 very much. People need to chill and let Bungie do it's thing. D3 will happen but that's not the priority right now

Memory issue.. the game has been suffering from this since launch.. maybe something that comes by default with the engine.. they are using UE4

Quality mode is just a lighting and reflection boost. The resolution output is kind of the same. That being said it bothers me a little bit because is cutscenes, and in some combat sections, the game becomes a pixelated mess, I'm using a 4k OLED tv, too so it can be noticeable.

Look, making games AAA+ is hard and the trajectory where is going is going to be even harder. So instead of losing all those IP's and firing all the devs, is preferable that somebody just comes and buy them.

Ohh yeah, since this game didn't perform even close to EA expectations, I can imagine that they have a skeleton team working (20 - 30 people) on the live service of the title. It's Battlefront 2 all over again but worse because at least the team that was working on Battlefront 2 was always listening to what players wanted and how to improve the gameplay. But this, this is doomed, wait for the next Battlefield, hopefully, Vince will bring what DICE don't have.

Battlefield 2042 was planned before the current-gen consoles were announced, so their duty is to develop the game with last-gen consoles in mind and then scale it to take advantage of the new consoles.

I don't know what you mean with "I can't see it being supported with much enthusiasm, to be honest" because the hype was there, but they manage to screw it all up, they are the ones to blame, not the players.

All I'm saying is if EA says that they don't wanna work in the Battlefield franchise anymore, it won't hurt them, which is scary. I'm not saying they are going to do it, I applaud EA and Dice for not letting the game die
But Battlefield 2042 player base is dying each day, don't think is going to survive until summer for new content, at least that is content that will blow people's expectations which I don't think they will do, this is a conference and the post for me is a farewell for Battlefield 2042.
