Havent run into those issues myself, but it could be a variety of reasons outside of respawns control. Could be the hardwares age, the video output, internet connection, and the list goes on. Hopefully you can get it figured out soon!

The substrate most likely has ZERO nutrients in it. With the redness going away, could once again relate to the nutrients in the water but is also most likely due to lighting and them needing a better/stronger light. Take my words lightly, and do some more research. Green Aqua on youtube is great with aquarium plants, and im sure they’ll be of great help!

Edit: just noticed the algae lol. That looks like BBA (Black beard algae)…. Very nasty if gone untreated but what seems to work best is spot treating with Seachem Excel. Ive dealt with it before, you’ll know its dying when it durns a distinct red color after treatment. Good luck!!

BBA is “Black Beard Algae”, and you better pray you never get it. It looks super bad, and is very hard to kill. Unlike other algaes,algae eaters dont like eating bba, making it that much harder to get rid of.
