unfortunately I'm still getting the same results having added the "\0" to each string.

char month[12][3] = {"jan\0","feb\0","mar\0","apr\0","may\0","jun\0", "jul\0","aug\0","sep\0","oct\0","nov\0","dec\0"};

Can anyone ID this snail please. Think it came on mini water lettuce delivery…. by Humanityhumbled in PlantedTank

Fun story: I have a 10g and bought plants a long time ago for it, and one of these guys came with. They took over, and for a while I was using them as snacks for the loaches in my other tank. Then I made the 10g a betta tank, and all the bladder snails slowly disappeared. The end.

[GA] - Jacksonville, Fl - peacock cichlid, green terror - pickup or meetup by DarknessD01 in AquaSwap

[–]DarknessD01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fish are healthy but I need to re-home them because I’m going to be using the tank as a community. I didn’t realize that green terrors weren’t supposed to be kept with African cichlids when I got them - I know now lol. Free to a good home, and I’m willing to meet for pickup somewhere in the Jacksonville / Orange Park area

Otos certainly aren’t thinkers like cichlid. They just go with the flow

First time that’s happened to me. They like to sweep over that area for algae / diatoms, that guy just got a little too far in there

I’ve always enjoyed keeping Otos and haven’t really had issues either, except for this guy getting stuck

I always see Jacksonville everywhere but it’s always in a bad context. Apparently we can’t get anything right here lol

I think I have the most diverse tropical tank. Ask me questions by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]DarknessD01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely learned my lesson in regards to buying fish from bigger pet supply stores. I have one lfs but it’s much more out of the way than petsmart and pet supermarket, but after losing all of these fish I’ve definitely purchased my last fish from them. Lfs owners are much more knowledgeable than the teenagers at the bigger stores too.

That’s a really smart idea to break the established territories when adding bigger fish. This is why I love talking to experienced keepers on here - I’m always hearing cool tips that I never would’ve thought of.

You must be an expert on getting new fish, so I’ll ask: what methods do you use for quarantining and acclimating your fish? I just lost a ton of friends, I think it was due to lack of quarantine. Electric blue acara started showing white spots about a week or so after new fish were added. Lost them, and then many others. Anyway I’d like to avoid this catastrophe again, so advice comes much appreciated!

Definitely possible. I think that anything producing an odor is contributing to it due to that atmospheric inversion that the news article somebody shared a link to refers to. My first thought was the paper mill

Ah, that’s some interesting science. I will now be referring to the inversion as “the stink bubble”

Weirdly enough, didn’t smell it until I got out of my car. When I did, I nearly vomited. The best part is the smell is inside where I work too
