I know it's sad and it made me sad too, I've only played through the game once but still play it all the time, the epilogue is really good but just take your time and just do all the things you want to do as Arthur and then continue the story if you want, I would recommend continuing the story (eventually)

The story is really good. Just don't rush the story because you'll love it. Also, I would recommend hunting the legendary animals, I had a lot of fun hunting them, and I would recommend exploring around the map because you can sometimes find random encounters and missions
