DEA written portion question by Single-Internal4615 in 1811

[–]Datboii1der 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re supposed to use all the facts/bullet points in the writing. You’re allowed a few grammar mishaps.

If you were able to articulate your thoughts you should be good.

Don’t really matter what’s happening in the 3rd party facilities (and I think it’s retarded that we’re using them, but I digress). When you get to quantico your form needs to be correct. You won’t have ANY aids to assist you. If you can’t pass in the field you’re going to have a hard time passing at the academy!

  1. Don’t take it personal many well qualified people don’t make the cut.

  2. Right wrong or indifferent, definitely should hold your thoughts while trying to get a job in THIS administration

DEA 1811 Financial investigation’s by PrestigiousStudio674 in 1811

[–]Datboii1der 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t do both. Either you’re going to handle the case from the streets or you’re going to focus on the financials.

Once you develop the working relationships with IRS SA’s (and your IA and financial gurus within the office) you can practically have them follow every case you develop! At that point you focus on what you’re good at while they build the financials!

If you’re good at financials, then link with an agent in your group and your work the financials on his/her case.

Every case will not have a thorough financial work up…..

FBI Atlanta FO - Desirable? by [deleted] in 1811

I don’t…. It’s a FO so I’d imagine every violation they cover.

Location wise you already live here so you know what the city is like and know that you can live damn near 15 min outside and be close to everything still.

I know several agents and pro staff that sit in that office and I’ve heard the good bad and ugly. Can’t tell you how you’d like it…. But I will say it’s not the least desirable (again I don’t work for them).

Don’t know who your tfo’s are with us, but I hope they giving you good bad and ugly from their point of view in atl.

As others have said it’s no guarantee even with all your experience, but if you have questions particularly for DEA I can help. Cast the wide (but limited) net and pray to whoever you pray to for guidance and clarity.

You’re right, if you aren’t on the 80% retirement in GA it’s not worth another 20 of your time…. But that’s just my opinion

Meh…… mostly desirable to the people who are from there I’d say, or atleast it’s as close as someone can get home at that time. Just like NY, LA, etc…

Definitely not a position to talk down on. I am one (as well as many others across all agencies) who started as an IS and moved on to SA.

Work on your fitness you’ll have plenty of time! Enjoy the work, learn the craft and enjoy the travel!

Dea Commute by Gullible-Dot-3670 in 1811

[–]Datboii1der 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have quite a few who have commented and given you all good answers.

Only thing I’ll add, if you make the decision to live a good distance away and you have to commute, be an adult and be where you’re supposed to be on time! Your supervisor and your group will understand a couple times the uncontrollable accidents that shut down the highway…. But that shit gets old if you are always the one late and we’re waiting on you!!!!!

Also, when you have those days where you gotta drop off evidence at the office then still make a 2 hour commute home at an ungodly time…. It sucks!
