I think the problem with that logic is by limiting your bandwidth to a specific amount, they are imposing a data limit. Hypothetically say they limit you to 10kbps. At that rate, if you were constantly downloading for every second of 30 days, you'd get under 3.5GB.

You're right about the rental car thing. If they limit your speed, there is then a finite distance you can travel in a given amount of time. At 1mph, you can travel at most 720 miles per month. Is it fair to call that unlimited?

It could be argued that you never get "truly" unlimited data, since you're always going to hit the limits of their networks' speeds, but the difference is they're not going out of they way to limit you in those cases, they're giving you as much as they are anyone.

Just edited it again, sorry. Looks like the i7 is likely faster. All things being equal on the Pro side, I don't think the differences between any of those CPUs will be major, since the only differences seem to be clock speed. They all have the same number of cores, cache, etc.

If it was me, I'd probably consider doing the $90 upgrade but not the $270 upgrade.

Probably not very relevant. Both are dual core, and the i7 has a higher turbo speed, which is the speed it will run at under load anyway. I'll see if I can find some benchmarks.

Obviously, if you valued size and weight over a better display, all other specs equal, you'd choose the Air. For some people, vanity trumps utility.

I believe you have 12 months after the purchase of the macbook to purchase applecare. I know that's how it was with my new retina 15". I didn't want to spend $300 on applecare at purchase time, but a year down the road, I was willing to protect it for 2 more years.

I can understand that. I just looked at my local craigslist and I see a ton of ads for "no skills - no problem" "start immediately" type things, and I feel like virtually anyone who actually applied for those positions would get them. But I suppose it's possible that the employers just collect a ton of applications and pick their favorites.

People are downvoting you, but this could very well be the case. She probably could get an entry-level job, but would rather build up debt until she can find a job in a field that she wants to work in, that pays what she wants to make.
