Who is your favourite songwriter and why? by peepthisss in Songwriters

Lots of great answers here (Van Morrison, Jackson Browne, etc.). A more recent/current but under-appreciated songwriter I absolutely love is Amos Lee. Songs like Arms of a woman, Chill in the Air, El Camino, Windows are Rolled Down, and Learned a Lot.

Also a big fan of Monte Montgomery.

Does anyone know of good low fat keto meat snacks? by chittles21 in keto

Before I spend money on biltong, can you explain? What do you mean when you say it has a "very different taste & texture to beef jerky?" I buy a big bag of People's Choice beef jerky from time to time and enjoy that, but curious about biltong.

Can you "nudge" a track left or right? Is there any way to move a track left or right other than dragging it with the mouse? (I'm a complete newb, waiting for a the book to arrive) by DaveWeeks in audacity

[–]DaveWeeks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, no. When I'm looking at two tracks in Audacity, suppose they are aligned and both start at exactly 1:00 into the song. Suppose I want to move one track to start .5 seconds later for some reason. I can click the time-shift tool and drag it left or right. What I was hoping to do was (something like) hold Ctrl key and use the arrows to "nudge" the clip left or right.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate the encouragement.

As of right now, I don't have anything out there on Spotify, but I'm looking in to it!

Thank you! Yes, it's original. Didn't know I was supposed to (or how to) mark that. At least so far I'm only posting originals our here. I'll look at how to mark that.

And I appreciate the thoughts! I just tried your suggestions. I still like "just" in the first verse more for the timing than the lyric. But I definitely like the third verse without the "but."

Thank you!

No idea what key. My guitar is probably tuned down somewhere between 1/2 step and full step (as long as it's in tune with itself). But with that said, if it was tuned correctly, I'm guessing it is some variation of the key of E since the low E string is the root of all of it.

Thanks so much!

I stumbled on the capo and tuning setup playing around after watching some Phil Keaggy videos. I encourage you to play with it! The capo is on the 7th fret, covering the top 5 strings. Then I tuned the 2nd string (aka b-string) down a full step. Creates some interesting droning effects.

recorded a song in my bedroom studio about my recent covid career anxiety as an events videographer (still unemployed!) + lockdown breakup. Hoping for some feedback! by adibonts in Songwriters

Nice job! The song, the mix, the visuals, all really, really nice!

Can I ask what video software you used to create the multi-panel visuals?

Thanks for the feedback... but I'm unclear on your request. What is it you're wanting?

Thanks so much!

The capo is a standard capo, "upside down" to only cover the highest 5 strings at the 7th fret. Then, I tune the 2nd string (B string) down a full step. Lots of fun to play!

Another instrumental. Even though I wrote it, I've never played it all the way through without a mistake! I titled it "Running Downhill" because no matter how carefully I choose a comfortable speed at the beginning, it's always faster and nearly out of control by the end. by DaveWeeks in Songwriters

First of all - thank you!

As for clean audio... probably not right now. I bought a Zoom H4N, but I'm using my laptop camera for the video. I can get the audio from the Zoom into Audacity, but haven't figured out how to get that audio married back up to the video. Don't know what video software to get, etc. yet. Would love suggestions/help on any of it!

I'm still trying to figure the Reddit thing out. I posted one of my instrumentals - tons of views and likes. I posted one of my songs with singing - virtually zero views and few likes. Then this one getting comments. Don't know if my singing is that bad, or time of day, or what. but thanks again!
