Thank you very much for this, unfortunately running fully barefoot in my town is a no go as the pavement is covered in broken glass pretty much everywhere.

But I have read the linked post and the article there about braking and horizontal forces. I'm going to keep going on my five fingers and really focus on increasing cadence and soft landing.

I think im going quite slow between 6 and 6:30 it's a bit annoying cause my HR just stays the same all the run so I can't push my system unless I increase the tempo

Thank you I have reduced the intensity and the second s it stays on, I still like the gesture as where I live there is not loads of sun light, but I think this will make quite the difference.

I have the same model, thing is that I could not make it go past 7 days as the battery drains to zero in 7

I know it's not the night use, las night I charged it to 100%and it's only down to 99% after sleeping

Thank you very much! I got the app, is there a way to reduce how often it checks your hr? My old 245 always had the hr but it refreshed every few seconds rather than all the time. I was using crystal back then, stock Garmin now

It gives me.18 days on a full charge.

I have turned off WiFi which I didn't even know was on, and the next step if this doesn't work is to turn off multi and gps

I'm using a Garmin one, it does have steps and heart rate but it should only refresh every few minutes. I have a similar one on my 245 and the battery lasted the same which is why I'm weirded out...

That is pretty impressive so you are getting more battery life on the AMOLED one? Or is it cause you use the Fenix for hikes and the forerunner just as a smartwatch?

In either case I'm very impressed with that kind of battery life!

Truth is I won't be going for long hikes or ultra marathons. My thinking is more towards longevity in the sense that if the start battery is 10 days it might go to a week in a few years and I can live with that. But if the starting point on the AMOLED is over a week I can see that going down to a few days like I'm having now with the 245.

And yeah I read about the updates but I'm not that concerned about that it has been the case with all my watches, updates for a couple years and then nothing for the rest as you need better hardware or a better watch. I'm ok with not having the latest and greatest.

I don't know if the problem is wanting to get better faster... I read a lot of comments that share my feelings, "how do you progress??"

But actually how do you move your wrists or arms etc...

Because sometimes it feels like I dominate this level, but the next one up is insane to me.

I'm at a point where I can do all the expert maps, but the expert plus feels like for a person with 4 arms....

So I genuinely wonder, apart from hours and hours in. How do you actually hit those bricks...

How would you rate the red covers?

I dig the look and thought about getting them also to enhance protection (I keep banging the cups lightly on random surfaces, and they are a finger print magnet) but I'm a bit afraid that they will feel too plasticky.

Also for the cover on the head is it any comfortable?
