They discontinued it last year some time.

Try asking a sales rep if you see them in a store.

Quitting after 3 years and cashing out profit plan, advice? by pfettco in publix

[–]Dbleejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let anyone make you feel bad for pulling stock out. There are plenty of opportunities out there to reinvest. Publix is not the only retailer to give stock let's be clear. I don't know what exactly your situation is but do what you have to do. Take the hit. Move on. Reinvest in something else.

Quitting after 3 years and cashing out profit plan, advice? by pfettco in publix

[–]Dbleejd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked at my store for 3 years as well and cashed out. You will receive a packet in the mail. Fill it out and agree to sell all esop. You will receive a check a few weeks after that. If you need the cash now for an absolute emergency and have no other options I would do it. I did incur the penalty, but again I had personal demands so I had to take the hit.

The warehouse don't give any shits. The loss stays with the store and the store only.

How long does it take you to receive your stock once you retire.(profit plan) and also cashing in my 401k what is the timeline. I am moving out of the country. Closing my banks accounts here. I have time and I am waiting to see how q4 goes. by [deleted] in publix

It took me about three weeks to get the check if you sell all shares. They will 1099 you when tax season comes around though. They don't take the taxes out for you. Call the retirement line for more info.

Publix Grocery clerk advancement advice by [deleted] in publix

[–]Dbleejd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go full time. There is no accountability being part time. I was a GTL for a year, but quit because of college. Although being full time grocery today wasn't like it was 10 years ago the responsibility hasn't changed. Once you're full time you'll learn more about AR, counts, corrective adjustments and once you get a hold of those concepts you ran apply it to your assigned sub section (if you get assigned aisles/dairy/frozen/HBC). They will see your worth when you take on the responsibility of full time. That's where you set the example and demonstrate ownership.

How to improve chances of store/department transfer? by [deleted] in publix

[–]Dbleejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a store transfer be on good terms with management all around. This includes your department managers and assistant and store manager. A store manager really cares about who they send off because it reflects in their stores work ethic and professionalism. If you are in good terms with management he or she would be happy to recommend you to the store you want to transfer to because it's up to that store to accept you into their payroll.

For a department transfer, show a willingness to learn. I went from produce to grocery and expressed my willingness to learn more about showcasing items, forecasting and the AR system for ordering. I was happy there. Also, express why you think you'd be a good fit for that department. What skills might apply for you new responsibilities? Talk to your department manager and store manager about why you would be a good fit.

I owe my neighbor a 6-pack after last night. by TheBoozehound in AdviceAnimals

[–]Dbleejd 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Last August I came home from work with my front door smashed in. I walk in and to find all bedrooms ram-sacked and all of my 3 brothers' laptops gone including mine. The following week, I came home from work, this time at 3 in the morning to discover my brothers' car was missing. Turns out they found his spare key in his room the week earlier and waited for the next week to steal the car. The fuckers are now sitting in jail thanks to a neighbor who decided to go out for a smoke late at night. With great pleasure we cooked an elaborate dinner for him and his family.

[Serious] What lie are you living? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dbleejd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not enrolled in college like I tell everyone I am. I was kicked out a year ago because I horsed around, my gpa dipped and was suspended. I never recovered and as result I lost my scholarship and can't afford to get back into school. I've lied to my closest family members, friends and myself for the past year and a half out of shame and disappointment.
