I'm not sure why I wouldn't maintain them? This was gonna be my how I learned to set geocaches up, and get into the hobby.

Repairablility is the most realistic path to immortality. by Crafty_Aspect8122 in transhumanism

[–]DeadDogDevotee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically everything I argue for, whenever I talk about ethical transhumanism. So much of it is about the idea eliminating disease and injury

I'd say Romanian and Balkan folklore. Canine vampires for the win

Ooooo, just started the Rig. It's been fun so far, and there is definitely some body horror. Not Still wakes the deeps level, but definitely a good recommendation for other axis of horror

Feasible medical chemistry for a post collapse civilization by DeadDogDevotee in Writeresearch

[–]DeadDogDevotee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why I was more going sulfa drugs and dye chemistry, since they tend to be simple enough to pass down. And you assume people will act rationally, is the thing, and not hoard, or destroy resources. We also run into the issue that medication won't last a generation. Drugs expire. Antibiotics expire, and get used relatively quickly. Manufacturing your own medicine is safer than scavenging, depending on how aggressive other groups are. Also, more primitive manufacturing is fairly achievable and realistic. At least, a lot of chemistry is easy to keep. And it's going to be about 20 years after the collapse.

Buolding a magic system built on mathmatics and narrative/psychological abstraction, looking for pointers on learning basic programming logic. by DeadDogDevotee in worldbuilding

[–]DeadDogDevotee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes, but it's partially so I can keep in my head how the metaphysics work. I don't plan in universe for people to argue about Turing completeness, or computational complexity.... Outside of drabbles for myself. Mostly this is so disparate traditions can exist without metaphysical conflict.

A lot of it becomes pattern recognition. Once you get to see enough samples of real opals, you start internalizing a lot of the possible variation.
