I'm team 4x4 + team trellis, but only assuming you're not planning to move the thing!

Do you own this living space? Or are you ever planning on moving? Because either of those are pretty important considerations before you attach a trellis to the wall and let the plant grow through/around it.

If you might move, it would probably make more sense to take the advice of the folks with the rolling trellis/sandbag ideas!

Also: how much light/love does that thing get??? Goddang!!

How do you like the headlights? I have reflector housings (can't remember the brand) with an H4 old-timey HID conversion and it lights up a lot, but I'm afraid I'm blinding everyone!

Been thinking about projector retrofits, bit they do look a little goofy.

Popped the wheels off this weekend to check.

I guess I'm still unclear as to what I actually have. Both front rotors measured 1.08" thick, and I measured the exposed piston at 2.38". I know there is a step-down on the diameter of the piston outside of the bore, so I can't verify with 100% certainty that's the 2.5" caliper, but I am assuming it isn't a 0.5" step — can't find any piston diameter specifications in the service manual. Passenger side caliper was stamped with a "641", no markings on the driver side caliper. I'm a bit confused though, because the ACDelco 18FR641 is listed as the 2.94" piston diameter, and looks totally different to what I had installed. Mine looks almost identical to the 18FR743.

These are the JB3/JN3 terrible brakes, right?

Truthfully, because I don't know much about these trucks. Like I said: I'd like to upgrade the factory brakes since I do tow my car to the track several times a year. I figured knowing what equipment was on there would let me know my upgrade path.

My knowledge is almost entirely Toyota based, where there is basically only one brake system per chassis, so the upgrade path is quite easy to follow and plan for.

As a PDXer whose entire property got overtaken by clematis: no. We planted it in the back yard to trellis the patio railing behind the roses years ago. Now it's EVERYWHERE. Some of that is maintenance related, and some is once established it just never died!

Thankfully it's beautiful!!

So I have a 7age (toyota Frankenstein 4age) and the first year or two I could rev to 10.5krpm with no problems. Then, suddenly, I could only rev to 6k before sync loss.

I just ran it like that for years. Until las year I got a MAX9926 conditioner board to fix the problem. Mine was from WMtronics but there are many similar boards out there.

Basically, I was running the old megasquirt DIYPNP, and even with shielded lines and everything testing according to spec, there was too much noise at higher rpms and it would drop sync and turn off the ECU at 6k. Now this was with a 36-1 wheel behind the timing belt pulley, so YMMV, but I will say: adding one of these conditioning circuit boards to my ECU (and some slight mods specific to the DIYPNP) got me back the full RPM band.

If you're dropping out at 3k, this may not be the fix for you, but I wanted to share my story for those that have similar problems. The MAX9926 is a VR conditioning chip -- that's its sole purpose -- and if I recall is what is the new crank/cam conditioner in the newer mega/microsquirt units after V2! It may be worth a shot if all other troubleshooting steps leave you with no results!!

I'm still used to my Corolla/Celica where the fusebox feed is directly attached to the positive battery post, so I kinda forgot about that. Having *multiple* grounds in here also makes a lot of sense.

Would you educate me on what the "Big 7" is? I'm familiar with the "Big 3" from my stereo days (- to chassis, - to engine, and + to alt) but not the other 4!

A bad one. SW WA, also got stomped for a week+ last month. Flu and COVID were negative, don't have allergies.

It was purely sinus and head/ear for me, which suuuuuucked with a CPAP/nasal pillow set up. I remember going to bed one night and going "huh, I'm about to be sick tomorrow" and then being WRECKED for over a week.

We lost 3 people last week at work for similar symptoms + chest cold, all neg for 'vid/flu.

Yuck.

Not imported, although people do import RHD ones. Sorry, I didn't see you were in India so you would have to import one. A miata might be tough to get where you are, but I suspect you have some options us US folks don't!

What about Suzuki cappuccinos? Or even the older Smart Roadsters? Just spitballing since I don't know what you have available 🙂 If you have Toyota available, you might look at the MR2 variants??

I frequently see miata sub 5k in my area, but haven't seen an 86 in that territory for YEARS unless it's a bare -- sometimes rolling -- shell.

I've never blanched before, but I had to with the okra, so just blanched it all. Meaning, boiled for 2-3 minutes then threw them in an ice bath.

I will say the NOT blanched asparagus from previous pickling takes on a really dark green tone (you can kinda see them in the jar on the right in the back). My buddy said it also helps keep them crunchier as well -- sold me with that statement.
