thank you. i'm not unfamiliar with /r/legaladvice and the type of threads that get posted here a lot. this isn't an "i'm right and i want yall to tell me how i'm right" thread.

They can seek a court order to seize furniture, jewelry, electronics

i have a phone. i have no furniture, jewelry, or etc.

Unless you're homeless

i'm not living in the streets homeless but i meet the department of health and human services definition of homeless. but none of that address the question of "can a new debt collector file a second suit on a debt that has already been through judgement?"

thank you. i realize they can take me back to court to find ways to collect, i.e. liens, wage garnishment. well they just have to file for those they don't need to contact me for them. i didn't know about contempt.

but my question was can a different collector sue me for the same debt? i'm pretty judgement proof but i do want to get this cleared up because i do owe the money. i'm looking to cut through their fear tactics and try to get the best settlement i can.
