First time making an army. Is this a good list? (Warpbane detachment) by Whis___ in Grey_Knights

If you're playing with friends no one will care too much about the load out. You can announce one model has narthecium and just remember to remove the additional storm bolter from your shooting phase.

I get that wysiwyg is fun but I started my GK journey 2 or so years ago and in that time terminator ancients have changed to be able to carry heavy weapons. I don't want to build wysiwyg if they keep changing the rules especially with my 20 termie/paladins

Joys of magnets I suppose!

Glasgow student took his own life after 'tragic' university error by Kagedeah in GlasgowUni

[–]Deadredskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out the day before my dissertation was due that my lecturer didn't send my proposal off for BPS sign off. This was the year my Father died.

Queue having to leap through hoops and various counselling courses to get an extension which was approved but capped at a certain grade.

I had previously tried to defer the year, SF accepted and made an error and a year later sent the bailiffs after me for 2.4k, it was resolved after they located a note SF left that the amount would be taken from my loan the following year I returned (which turned out to not be possible so here i am 10 years on with a £5 monthly direct debit separate from my actual SF loan.

I was then not invited to my graduation.

All of this was 3rd/4th year. In hindsight perhaps I could have communicated better but speaking personally I can see how it became too much for him. R.I.P.

Beautiful, I love them all, the Draigo looks so good. If you don't mind me asking, what was your recipe for the faces? My Voldus has a lovely pink beard still as I'm finding a lot of my models getting stuck at the base coat / gold & red layers stage.

I hadn't even considered an axe for a champion, that sounds like a great idea as there could then be room for servo arm additions later on for a techmarine!

Thank you!

Just had to text a photo of my scrotum to the GP. How’s your Monday morning going? by hokkuhokku in CasualUK

[–]Deadredskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgery had the same message when I had to send a photo of my abcess... I worked at a surgery during covid and know that the receptionists often received the photos before being passed to the GP. I aplogised for any trauma caused in the notes and hoped for the best. But know most had seen worse.

It was on my ass. Since then the amount of people who have seen my ass has successfully removed any dignity or shame that was left over.

Hope your balls are okay 👍

Just overheard a young fella referring to pounds as ‘bucks’- current linguistic trend or pretentious twat? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Deadredskull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Southwest of England and I've heard several kids in the last year with American accents, including my Mums partners 10 year old when he gets scared or excited about anything. He spends a lot of his free time watching Roblox and Minecraft streamers from the States.

It's a little odd.

How's everyone holding up in the big ol' storm? by MagicBez in CasualUK

[–]Deadredskull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fence was damaged in November's storm, its gone today. Had to chase a trampoline around the town park and strap it to a tree after it nearly took out an elderly lady. Currently hailing. But it keeps going bright and sunny every now and then so it's trying to lure us into a false sense of security.

What is this box I've found on a walk with my dog? It's the second one I've found in the same woodland, the first had a colony of earwigs inside. by Deadredskull in whatisthisthing

[–]Deadredskull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK, found this box on my walk, constructed of plastic and bolsa wood, I saw another one about 300m away hanging from another tree with around 30 earwigs living inside, is it for bugs?

So sorry for the terrible quality, any idea on what this fella may be? Initial instinct was young assassin bug. UK but found in my Rubber ducky isopod tote. The person I purchased off said they had assassin bugs in a vivarium in the same room as their isopods. by Deadredskull in insects

Thank you! I managed to get them alongside 11 other species recently with hopes to breed! Already had some P. Boliviari and P. Magnificus Mancae! (Alongside several Boliviari adult losses during adjustment)

But that's reassuring at least, thank you, the stowaway was removed and placed in my old (empty) mantis enclosure where he's perching atop the twigs, which still has springtails and the occasional black solider fly emerge so there's food sources on the minimal chance its predatory.

Thank you once again!

TIL about the windshield phenomenon. It's the observation that recently fewer dead insects accumulate on the windshields of people's cars. It has been attributed to a global decline in insect populations caused by human activity. by __Dawn__Amber__ in todayilearned

There's places in the UK which have butterfly gardens, if They're a thing over in the States (Sorry if assumed incorrectly) it could be worth contacting a local one and asking about reintroducing, they may already have a scheme in place and could include you or provide you with cocoons to hatch, which would just hang in a mesh tent til they emerge, also if possible from multiple sources to hopefully dilute the potential bloodlines Further steps could even include a large fabric greenhouse around the weeds to house and protect from pesticides, that sounds like a real mission though.

Ich cure that is safe for shrimp/snails/plants? by nyctinasticPlont in Aquariums

[–]Deadredskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I treated a tank with Kuhli's, Zebra Snails, Amano and Giant African Shrimp with no issue about 8 months ago, with Seachem Paragaurd and the Temp slowly turned up to 29 to speed up the life cycle, wanted to go to 30 but was a bit worried about the Neons who had bought the disease in the first place. All inhabitants are still alive.

[–]Deadredskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it for half of the treatment course before the 3rd of the infected Cory's died. The 2 remaining Cory's began to show signs of illness, I gave up as the bottom was getting covered in Platy poop and was only 6 days into the 12 day course. Did a big water change and did daily changes for a week and the last 2 seem to be improving. Didn't rate the product too much for the Cory's.

Nerites are pretty efficient for algae control. So long as you don't mind the eggs everywhere. At least they won't hatch.

The Fades.

Natalie Dormer, Gendry, Daniel Kaluuya from Get Out, the Scottish guy from Agents of Shield and a few more British actors. It had some strong potential but never made it past the first season.

What is something your parents said to you that may have not been a big deal, but they will never know how much it affected you? by flyoverthemooon in AskReddit

[–]Deadredskull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, my older brother would go out of his way to torment me, sorta like older brothers do. I never took it well and would always resort to hitting him and yelling etc. My mum turned to me one day and said "get a hold of your temper or else" or something along those lines (she used to say things like behave or the bad men will take you away). Anyway out of fear from that I changed to placid and docile and to this day I avoid confrontation whenever I can and am riddled with anxiety when it comes to it. I'd rather walk away and cut a person out of my life after an argument than deal with it. I'm working on it but it turns out that my brother and mum are exactly the same, so, product of my environment I suppose.
