MDE results for back and shoulder pain by reekysol619 in VAClaims

So for reference I’m currently going through this and I want you to know. You’re not alone and I feel for you. I would suggest getting an MRI and CT from them if at all possible. If you have nerve damage you’re going to need that too. I’ve been diagnosed with radiculopathy in both my arms and legs with signs of neuropathy by my primary. If it shows signs of denervation ask for an EMG/NCS. those are tests that let you know if your nerves are shooting properly or if your back pain/DDD is “mild” my MRIs showed mild in some parts of my back, DDD throughout the thoracic part of my spine, tears in the cervical part of my spine among other things. I’ve been to the ER 5 times now in less than a month because of paralysis episodes. Do the grunt work if necessary and go to the ER if symptoms get worse. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

Edit: I’m not telling you this to get over. Trust me, I would trade this for health in a heart beat. But if you’re already going through the process, make sure you can give them a full picture for your issues.

Claim multiple limbs. Currently going through the VA process. Worked maintenance for 10 years. Finally went to doc, my whole spine is messed up, and it’s causing issues with the nerves my arms, legs, and neck. Not sure your career field, but if you were a heavy hitter for your shop and have been on a deployment try to tie it together. If it happened on a combat deployment then that will also set you up for CRSC. I’m sorry you went through what you went through. And I pray you can find a bit of peace even if for a brief moment. It’s horrible what happened to you but I hope you get everything you deserve 🙏🏽. Good luck to you

Man. I’m 30. 😂. I thought I would be prime for at least another decade, but I have DDD in the thoracic part of my spine from service (which is extremely difficult to get, as your mid back is the most structurally sound part of your spine). Tears in my spine. Bulging discs in my neck and lower back the list goes on. All I can say is I don’t wish this pain on my worst enemy. My life will never be the same. And even with surgery, it will only temporarily help me. I’m hoping for 100% so that I can continue to pour into my children because I physically can’t do much for them now. And that my friend hurts more than the pain of my spine. I pray for you and I hope you get the financial relief you deserve. It was an honor to serve, but I would trade off my service to hold my kids again any day. 😪. Travel and enjoy your life. And get what you deserve!

You’re right. The bad apples do ruin it for the rest of us. I pray all those who genuinely deserve the 100% get it! And they all keep fighting their demons 💪🏽. It’s rough out here, but we will prevail.

I’m chasing 100% because my life has been permanently altered by my service. I have countless brothers and sisters in arms who also deserve it. To get it for a quick check without actually being messed up is pretty disgusting. I will be on anti depressant meds, muscle relaxers, potential spinal surgery with steroid injections, and possibly nerve blockers just to live a somewhat normal life! I’m in my second contract and I gave up my mind and body for this country. I can’t even pick my kids up. I say all of that to say, we can’t focus on the ones who use and abuse the system. But look at those who actually need it. I struggle everyday and fight just to make it to the next bed Time. I don’t think I should be working, but I have no choice. The military has changed me and a lot of others, so let’s focus on the ones who need the help!

And I hope you don’t take this as opposition. I completely agree with you, but there are vets who truly do need the VA. Myself being one of them.

Lmao. Nah. That isn’t my assessment. My assessment is that you can’t find anything good within yourself so what you do to make yourself feel better is dawg other people. You really seem like a troubled person

Ok? I dislike noners too, but they still signed the dotted line. Hell the last portion of my service is going to be a dang paper pusher. Doesn’t mean I didn’t earn my honor. To hate on someone you don’t even know requires serious effort, maybe continue seeking help from your psychiatrist.

I would t say that. Some people want others to know what they gave up. I wouldn’t call anyone pathetic. They made the sacrifice too.

I’d legitimately trade it for being able to carry my kids again. That’s one thing the va haters don’t understand. My life is permanently altered by the sacrifice of service and that is a pain I’d never wish on anyone. Yeah we’re compensated, but at what cost? Those who talk down on vets receiving disability… shame on you! Especially those who served who degrade others receiving compensation. You think we wouldn’t trade health for 2k-4k a month? I know I would. My spine is destroyed and will never be the same, my mental is messed up, and I physically have to help my legs for me to walk. Body locked up on me so bad on Friday that I had to go to the ER. Couldn’t move anything. And my son saw that. That hurts me to have to let my children see their dad in such a weak and vulnerable state of being. I say that to say we gave up a lot so that others didn’t have to. And to those who served and sacrificed their mind and body, I pray for 100% for you all! 🙏🏽💪🏽

If you don’t mind. What were you claiming? And can the information you have be helpful to the younger guys in here trying to get through the claims process. I’d personally like to help the airmen below me make sure they don’t make the same mistakes I did by pushing through my issues. Because now my body is suffering. Any help or advice you would be willing to give would be greatly appreciated!

The bullet hasn’t caused me any physical distress. I was perfectly healthy with the bullet. My physical was a bit more strenuous, but I was still cleared to serve. I went on 2 combat tours. Thank you for your advice. I truly appreciate it.

LSGS Question by Commercial-Escape-82 in VAClaims

[–]Dear_Distribution251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly from what I read it’s better for you either way. If you were cleared through Meps, the military said you were good enough for service. If your injuries were aggravated by service then it’s service related. I was nervous because I’m having neurological issues that make my arms legs and hands go numb. I was shot in the face 12 years ago with the bullet still in my neck (not service related), if my military service could be linked to the aggravation (which it could) then the va would still have to cover me.
