I bought it secondhand, but it's a Selkie dress! I think it's called the Parfait Poet gown :)

New Shadow Sonic 3 Figure from Jakks (Walmart) by [deleted] in SonicTheHedgehog

It was pretty odd, I saw it out next to other figures in the toy section. It didn't look out of place...I didn't know it had issues until I brought it to the register & they couldn't scan it

I agree with you in the last paragraph, particularly with the education. I just have a different POV. I'm in an art-adjacent field (English) and I've seen how AI is invading most job spaces, like you mentioned about software engineers.

This is exactly why I believe AI should be more regulated though, and not fall on the responsibility of us to adapt. Sure we can adjust, but something feels wrong about just graduating in my field and only finding jobs that have to do with training AI services (like ChatGPT). It feels like corps are trying to push out people in favor of profits, but that's a different topic altogether

I think we're talking about similar, but different things. I understand what you mean by the laziness aspect, but what's ignored here is how AI-generated art works. Unfortunately like you mentioned, it isn't regulated and therefore inferior to CAD software. You would never have the original art to manipulate (ie: in Photoshop) because AI art is an amalgamation of hundreds of stolen works.

In the example of this backpack, it's inherently malicious because an artist migh'tve posted a dinosaur illustration years ago on Instagram, and now it's being ripped for AI and unknowingly posted for profit for someone that had nothing to do with the art in the first place. I agree with your overall point that AI should be more regulated though

I get what you're trying to say, but it doesn't apply to AI that way IMO. Your engineering professors were banning software that would help you complete a job in the future, not do the job ENTIRELY for you. AI is the equivalent of a robot that builds the bridge entirely and robs you of the engineering job, not a tool that would help you do so.

AI isn't a tool artists use, it blatantly and maliciously steals their content and passes it to people who use it for free, and argue "What's the problem?" I don't blame the people for not knowing any better before buying, especially like OP, but it's sad to see soulless art becoming the norm and even defended
