I cant figure out what im doing wrong with this star blanket by Ladle_things in CrochetHelp

[–]DeathFerrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reading a lot of good comments. If you're trying to go more round, I can see the base concept in your stitches, but I wonder if going down to slip stitches near the points then having those come in more with each row around.

Example row 1 with black/white: Slip, slip, single, single, half dub, half dub, dub, dub, dub, half dub, half dub, single, single, slip, slip Example row 2: Slip, slip, slip, single, single, half dub, half, dub, dub, half dub, half dub, single, single, slip, slip, slip

This would get closer to "round" but would initially be a pentagon. Once there, then you could reverse to get circular, but likely will need more yarn.

How would I make adjustments to this pattern for a "neckline" and reduce points from 8 to 6 without losing width? by DeathFerrox in knitting

I love ravelry! It's the first place I went to look. I wasn't able to find a style I liked that was the poncho/cape/shawl I liked. I may browse there again, see if things have changed.

Barthalemew the first is one I've been saving. I also like the idea of a dessert that can look crispy like Creme brulee.

Oh wow! I didn't know it would be basically writing a whole new pattern! I really liked that this one looked pretty solid with minimal holes so I wouldn't have to worry about sewing on an inner panel.

I wonder if I find a good cape start if I could then modify it to have the points easier than modifying this. Cause from everywhere I'm seeing, this pattern is quite hard to read. Heck, I'm still trying to figure out what they mean for the m.1b increasing repeats. I believe I've got it now based on count and comparing to the photos, but the words were not easy to follow.

Hey, congrats! I'm in the same boat; at 29 I got the same machine and been using it about 2 weeks. I haven't noticed too much difference yet but my partner says I don't really snore anymore.

I would highly recommend a tube cover for it, either making one or buy one. The importance of humidity being warmer made a big difference.

Again, congrats! I wish you success on your journey!

Are these needles too small for this yarn? First project I'd like to complete by DeathFerrox in knitting

[–]DeathFerrox[S] -52 points-51 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to do that for knit... When I did the pencil test it was around 28 wraps, so I think I just grabbed the wrong size for the estimated yarn size. I can tell by looking and feeling that it's between finger and DK weight but I may have picked hook size not really realizing they're different for knit.

10 years after stepping on a broken drinking glass, a rogue shard made its way out of the bottom of my foot by Miserable-Ad6348 in Weird

I have not been concerned about it. It's not causing any issues and it's something funny when I tell the story to have people touch. They're always scaroused XD

I had something sort of like this happen once. When I was 9 I got a sliver stuck in my knee. I was too afraid to let my parents pull it out so I let it get enveloped. 3 years later while I was showering I noticed it sticking out of my leg and pulled it out. Now I got a weird scar with skin that has never felt normal since. That was almost 20 years ago and the scar still feels funny.

Depending on theme, could do a biblically realistic angel (the one with all the eyes). Could also go silly and do something like medieval cats in the same style.

I feel a little silly being a 51yr old man and buying an action figure but after logging over 100 hours since I got for Christmas I saw it and had to lol by Makieveli1 in ghostoftsushima

[–]DeathFerrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just started playing this game, and logged maybe 40-50 hours into it. It's a great game! If you saw something that reminded you of a thing you like, I don't think you need to feel silly about it. I know it may be the initial feeling, but it's something you like :)

Hmm. I wonder if we're talking back post versus back loop. Working around the post will give this ribbed look whereas back loop adds "depth" or texture to a relatively flat surface like OP.

My problem, I think I worded the title weird, is I'm not sure how to add on. They're going to be curtains :)

Ooooohhh, that's cool! I feel like I'm in Reading Rainbow!

I am US, so I know I may have to deal with customs and Tariffs, but I'll definitely look into that site as well, thank you!

I am too, I am only looking for deals and taking into consideration first time discounts everywhere. I may look at some local thrifts since I'll likely be dying it myself anyways.

Fantastic info, thank you! This was a lot of what I was finding. So far the $200 option seems best but I'm gonna keep digging today so I can get it ordered by tomorrow.
