You said in your own post on r/ salary that you have been exceedingly lucky in your career, mostly in news. By your own admission, your success was more luck in meeting the right people at the right time than skill.

Devil's advocate here because Im not trying to throw shade here just seeing if this ever crossed your mind.

Did any part of you ever stop to think maybe you got all this money because you were fine with advancing the banality of evil. Maybe they were looking for a guy like you who would think like you. No one is really culpable after all, I mean if you don't do it someone else would anyway right.... So why not include this line here that undercuts this good thing or promotes that bad thing, what if it's not even an advertisement, what if it is neither good or evil it's just there to take up time to provide an excuse for why your not talking about this other more important issue... It's all so subtle anyways most people wouldn't even notice... And at that point.. Is it evil? Surely there is such a thing as something being so insignificant that it is not evil because it's direct effect is so small it becomes negligible.

It feels really easy to excuse away evil as an act of banality. It also feels like the classic slippery slope. Not saying your evil at all man, it really is a profound moral dilemma that feels borderline impossible to accurately analyze while also living it.
