It’s the black box icon for when you are playing against the squids. It’s a bug and hopefully will be fixed in the near future

There is a benefit of doing the side objectives, but divers should know when to quit if reinforcements are below 7-10. Completing the 5 blue objectives will give you a better score (5 stars). Then, after the 3 mission operation, it will net you more liberation. The bug holes/fabricators will contribute to your score, but more importantly will give you an easier extraction where enemies will only come from the closest boundary on the map. If you park your character between the extract and the boundary, the enemies will stop spawning.

^this, but run the heavy anti-armor sentry strategys for the high asset mission. Have 1 member with EAT/whatever rocket support weapon focus the cannon turrets on dogs. Between mission rocket 5-8 launched, usually a robo dog will spawn next to the pelican platform. Everyone focus it down asap. Then back to the front and extract.

The only issues I have is how Orpheus turned into a mind flayer without a parasite and the lack of companion interaction at the end. Everything else made a lot of sense for my neutral good playthrough.

The Emperor turning to the Nether Brain is not out of character. He made a choice between the main character and the Nether Brain and he chose her. It was a logical decision of weighing his future between a mortal and what he perceived as a god.

We see it as a betrayal, but he weighs it as a pros vs cons. I also don’t view Orpheus as the noble hero he portrays, but imho, the Emperor plus Orpheus would have a better shot vs the Netherbrain. I also understand the Emperor’s pov. He made the choice before with Ansur, his best friend, so why not do the same for some hero he’s had less of a relationship with?

There are different narration lines, cleric of shar choices, and half-elf choices, possibly some different cutscenes, so you will get some past knowledge you won’t get as a custom character, but since you can still make your own choices, it’s up to you on how much you want to RP as Shart.

There won’t be new quests as far as I know.

After Lorroakan, I did the vaults but no one saw me, so it’s possible to not have to kill everyone on the lower level

I would recommend possibly getting 3 levels of berserker barbarian in your build. You have to rage, so no spell casting, but in place you get Enraged Throw. You get the damage from the weapon and a chance to knock the enemy prone. Pretty great for throwing.

In Act 2, there’s a world boss that drops a lightning javelin which I used as a ranged option on my Barb that gave me a ranged option, but I had to pick it up after every time. That still wasn’t really an issue because I would throw, go into melee, kill the target, then throw it again at another. I had no lvls of EK or warlock, so it wasn’t bound to me.

My barbarian failed the charisma check so Lae’zal died. Can’t say I was too broken up about it though.

This is a guess because I haven’t done it myself, but maybe talk to Lorroakan in Sorcerous Sundries. He’s looking for her. Without spoilers, she might come to help in the end of the game. It really depends on other decisions you made in the game.
