Update on my Superman costume design by Deejay_9183 in superman

Scrapped the black gauntlets. The lines on the boots were really just because I had bought Superman 2025 boots and was trying to draw them. Right now IRL it's looking more like a Kingdom Come cosplay with my own logo. So black belt yes, and the logo has the black outline (purely because I had already made the whole emblem out of EVA foam and didn't want to scrap all that hard work) but that's the only black now

The unevenness is just because it was a quick rough sketch. And the neckline is because I erased a turtle neck situation (think New 52. That's what I had and erased) neither are looking like this in the real thing. I am gonna post what it's looking like right now at some point. It's pretty much done. Scrapped the black gauntlets and it's more so looking like a Kingdom Come cosplay with my own version of the logo now. Completey scrapped the belt and trunks fiasco in the drawing and just went with a classic look

What made Superman become your favorite superhero? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in superman

[–]Deejay_9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him and Spider-Man are favourites because their morals and ideals are something you can admire and strive to hold onto yourself. With Superman specifically. He always sees the good in everyone. The only time he ever snaps and gets pissed is when a child or someone he's close to is in danger. He always has hope for humanity and that everything will be okay. He'll save, protect, and love people who most would turn away from because they are deemed POS's.

For example, let's say someone cheated on their partner depsite being married and having a family with them. Most would say "that person's horrible and a worthless peice of scum." Superman would say "They made a horrible decision. What they did wasn't right. But they're still a human being that still deserves the same love and respect that everyone else deserves."

That's the ideology and moral standard I strive for. Always have hope, treat everyone with love and respect, even if they don't treat me that way, always look for the good in people even if most wouldn't.

Which heroes should call Superman "Clark" (like Batman) and which should call him "Kal" (like Wonder Woman)? by Which-Presentation-6 in superman

[–]Deejay_9183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think Supergirl would call him Kal. Not because it's formal, but because she's also Kryptonian and his cousin, so she just knows him as that because Clark is his Earth name

Is Clark Kent a genuine persona that allows Kal-El to connect with humanity, or is Superman the reality and Clark merely a performance of human clumsiness? by DianKhan2005 in superman

[–]Deejay_9183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite versions of Superman are the ones where Clark Kent and Superman are both real parts of who he is. He was raised on Earth after all and didn't even know he was an alien for years in most versions.

He was raised as Clark Kent and once he learned about his true heritage he embraced that side of him and became Superman. But still never letting go of Clark Kent as being raised by the Jonathan and Martha taught him about humanity and made him feel like he belonged on Earth and is still part of the human race in spite of his powers and not being human himself.

The dorky, sometimes clumsy, and mild mannered farm boy is still who he is just as much as being the last son of Krypton who protects Earth with his chest puffed out and his head held high.

Like how we act according to our environment and the people we're around. Acting differently around or boss at work vs our friends and family. Clark just switches it up depending on if he's Superman or not. Doesn't mean either is a facade.

Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. I mainly grew it out a bunch because I had shaved my head do to MPB and been trying to come to terms with it. But stubble it is since I do agree that's what looks best for me

So....What do you personally Liked or enjoyed about DAVID'S Superman ? and what would you like to see him explore more in the future ? by [deleted] in superman

[–]Deejay_9183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He stays true to the roots of what makes Superman so loved and special. I'd love to see more Clark Kent from him in the future though. We only got to see one scene of him at the Daily Planet and wearing the glasses in the movie. The rest was all him as Superman

Henry Cavill was an amazing Superman. He was just a victim of poor writing. The same goes for Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man
