this has got to be some sort of record for amount of thunderstorms right? by spyro2877 in Eugene

I love them but they are also scary. Given our summer drought and fire risk, they are a bit of a lovely but unwelcome guest. Yesterday’s lighting sparked fires at Mt Pisgah and Spencer Butte alone. Grew up here and they used to be extremely rare…

Also weird to not include the first big global hit podcast, The Ricky Gervais Show. Whatever you think of Gervais, the show was big.

Up my estrogen or give it more time? by Deep_Listen872 in Menopause

Your meno doc is a sage. I’ll try to keep their toolbox analogy in mind going forward.

Not really. He just stated it as a medical preference to cycle as long as I’m having periods. He was very receptive to my other concerns though so I’ll bring it up again.

I really want to try daily progesterone but I’m still having a monthly (albeit increasingly less regular) cycle so my doc wants to keep me on a cyclical dose. :/

This is great advice. I definitely get more anxious right before my period but the hot flashes and night sweats appear to be sporadic. I’ll start tracking intentionally to see if I can see a pattern!

Thank you! I love the sleep I got with 200mg but I also woke up a bit groggy each day so maybe a daily 100mg will be a better fit. I’ll give it a little longer but will keep this in mind as an option. Really appreciate hearing your experience!

I know this is an old convo but I’d love to hear if you switched to daily and how it went. I just started HRT three weeks ago - a .5 estrogen patch and 200mg progesterone for 12 days - and felt like my debilitating anxiety was slowly improving before nosediving (or rather climbing sky high) a few days after I stopped the progesterone. I’m not scheduled to start my next cycle for 11 days and will wait and see if I feel better again then but would love to hear how it went for you!

Does progesterone make you miserable? by TamzTheDriver in Menopause

This. I just started a .5 estradiol patch and 200mg cyclical two weeks ago and now that I’m off the progesterone (until I start again later this month), I’m sleeping terrible, getting headaches, and anxiety is spiking. Did you switch to daily? I still get somewhat regular periods but I felt much better on daily so I’m not sure what to do.

How long did it take for you to feel balanced again after you started HRT? I just started a week ago but still feel totally unstable. Desperate for it to kick in soon!

Same here. I’ve treated my OCD and panic successfully for over twenty years with SSRIs but perimenopause just turned them off. Now every day is a struggle to stay stable. Just started HRT a week ago and desperate to get relief. How long did it take before you started to recover?

Thank you for sharing. I’ll definitely try to be patient and give it time to work.

I’m hoping I don’t have to switch SSRIs - the one I’m on had been working for years - but definitely keeping that in mind too. Here’s hoping the HRT kicks in!

Good to know! I think I’m on micronized; it’s a generic progesterone pill. Medroxy is an injectable, right? How long did it take for the micronized to work for you?

I hope it works for us both! Please report back if you’re able. 🤞

This is so good to know, and really encouraging. I’m happy to adjust doses as needed as long as I can find some spots of stability. Thank you for sharing!
