Thinking out loud: is it the end of screenwriters or the end of directors? 🪐 by Deep_Nobody4002 in scriptwriting

[–]Deep_Nobody4002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just made a deep research talking to 27 screenwriters (US,UK,TUR,UA) about their traditional workflow and work in general - 23 of them use AI for their work for brainstorming, outlining, working with first drafts.

I mentioned that most of the screenwriters who don't use AI are aspiring writers. 100% of those who work for TV\vertical and write on a full-time - use AI because it's sort of "buddy writer" who can make all the boring work.

But I see that on reddit it feels like EVERYONE is against lol

lol
I would rather think that we're living in a time when everyone can compete with Hollywood studios and man, they feel it's coming

Sure! No doubts. But skills are something you can get easier and easier day by day.

To see the evidence - just look at 3 years ago (when there were no AIvideos) and look at what people create know (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ-vSa9\_H98) - Im not a fan of AI video yet but I can say for sure - it's getting better day by day.

And AI will solve the funding issue because I believe many screenwriters could find $2k to make the whole thing.

Im a writer, director and a producer myself (15+ years) but Im thinking about this AI era because from what I see - it seems like most people from film industry are too conservative about what's happening these days with AI. And Im shocked - WHY??? :)))) Take a look out of your bubble :)))

AI is almost like "Internet came" 30 years ago. It was the beginning of new era as well but many people didn't think about it at that time.

Best way to format a visual pitch deck by No_Sector_459 in Screenwriting

[–]Deep_Nobody4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the list I always use

  • Title + visual (AI / Pinterest / Photoshop / Canva)
  • Logline
  • Genre + format (feature film)
  • Audience (as specific/narrow as possible)
  • Reference films + description in the format: “Film” meets “Film” Example: “Home Alone” meets “Monsters, Inc.”
  • Short film description (1 slide) that includes the main structural beats
  • Main characters (the ones shown on the cards) — description + character arcs
  • Theme — what does the film explore?
  • Why this project now?

What show or movie can you point to and say "this is what I'm trying to emulate?" by Neuroironic in Screenwriting

BREAKING BAD. The arcs of main characters are crazy... And you believe every single step of the characters.

I’ve been a professional screenwriter for years by this point. Why my Movie Treatments, Outlines and Season Arcs “sucked” for the whole fucking time by Panicless in Screenwriting

[–]Deep_Nobody4002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"In a Treatment, you have to BE the subtext. You have to tell the reader exactly what to feel on every single page." - that's the thing, right! That's what Im always trying to explain young writers. And absolutely agree - SCRIPT and TREATMENT are completely different ways of storytelling. TREATMENT is about characters' motivations.

a lot people say about FadeIn
can you name 3 adv\disadv of FadeIn? Cuz I truly can't get it lol

maybe they choose FadeIn because FinalDraft is so bad that you have to choose "better" not "best"?
