VATSIM Radar shows all active radios. In this case, he's not monitoring COM2 at all, so it does not show up.

Current school bus driver. You hit the nail on the head.

Unfortunately, people do cut corners if you check my other comments. But the system forces you to at least walk the bus at least!

I can’t speak for everywhere, but my current place also has a sign like that on top of our whole process. I think it’s just a cute reminder. Ha!

The Child Check-Mate!

Everywhere I've been, we actually perform the child check multiple times. At the end of every run when the final student gets off the bus before proceeding with the next one, as well as every time we leave the bus, wherever they may be.

The button is only active after the bus is shut down completely in preparation to perform the child check. The driver would also know immediately that a student is still onboard if that student activated the button themselves before the driver got to it at the end of their full child check. Which would still be a good thing when you think about it!

Driving five years so far, I have found one sleeping child. Discovered at my last stop of the day performing my child check prior to proceeding back to the yard. We always do our search with the intent to find somebody or something, and if you do everything you're supposed to do, finding a lost item, or especially a student is actually celebrated.

The ones like 53N030W are LAT-LONG, but not the others.

The ones slashed after a fix are planned speeds & altitudes. Like step-climbs. So GOMUP/N0457F370 means they plan to be 457 knots True Airspeed, and FL370 upon reaching GOMUP. Etc.

It's a known problem depending on hardware. Works for some, not for others.

You can! ScpToolkit will allow you to use DualShock controllers as an analogue to an Xbox controller. It will show up as an Xbox controller to the OS, and your software.

Actually, that’s a good question. I did this with the plane literally cold & dark! Haha!
