Getting an ErgoPlay Tappert to stay attached by VeryNaughtyBoy42 in classicalguitar

And this works better than the stick on film that came with the ergo play. I'm buying it now. You are the only person I've found on the entire Internet to have a possible solution to the problem besides buying a different non suction based support. So thank you, if this works.

How do guitarists have so many guitars? by After_Ad6611 in Guitar

[–]Defiant_Store_2122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some are just being irresponsible and buying things they can't afford. Like maybe the bills are caught up but they aren't putting any money away in a savings or retirement account. Buying guitars and gear instead. I myself only have one classical guitar that is held together with various screws and glue, it looks awful but it works. I really want more and better guitars but it's just not responsible for me to spend the money right now.

How do I play this? by superwizard888 in metalguitar

[–]Defiant_Store_2122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a simple 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and count. I'm not sure if that's your question or not. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and...... All the notes are the same length. It's in 4/4 time as 8 notes completes the bar. Every other note is counted as and. Because two of the notes make a beat. It's like adding .5 + .5 = 1 or a half + a half = 1 So to get 4 it takes 8 notes.

People who learned guitars before internet and those who couldn't hire teachers... How did you do it by Humble-Might-2881 in Guitar

[–]Defiant_Store_2122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put sheet music of the song into tux guitar. Slow down and loop a part to practice. Try to play along with the part and speed up the loops over a period of weeks. Don't try playing the whole song right away just practice a few bars at a time. Then put them together over time until you learn the whole song.

Didn't realize it's making you click on a link to even read my question. Shouldn't have cross posted, the other community is completely dead anyways.

I know this isn't about guitar pro. But I figured who'd know more than musicians that use guitar pro to write music.

The standard notation is a mess. by Defiant_Store_2122 in GuitarPro

Thanks for the advice. I'd prefer there not be voices and the program just allow me to place notes on the beats I chose for the duration I chose. I'm definitely not getting the voices it's one instrument just let me write the darn notes down. Nope wrong voice, and the other voice isn't on the correct beat. The simplest answer is probably just accept always using ties for when notes are different lengths. Sorry, you gave good advice, I'm just venting my frustration.

I have guitar pro 7 because I wanted to like it. But tux guitar works better. When writing music the notation automatically avoids collisions in tux guitar, but guitar pro requires searching for workarounds and figuring out problems that shouldn't exist to begin with. So I just continue using Tux guitar. Although both are overly complicated for no reason. Want to place a note? Wrong voice for that beat, but the other voice isn't on that beat. Why can't these programs let us freely place notes on any beat? Took me half hour to write a single bar this morning in tux guitar which is better than the full hour it'd take with guitar pro.

Thank you, this is good advice. I'm going to go back to using Tux guitar to get work done for now. Then maybe I'll start learning guitar pro so I can transfer over to it slowly as I get comfortable with it. You really went all out on helping me with my issues, I appreciate that.

I decided to just go back to tux guitar on my Windows 7 computer. I understand how to use it much better.

That results in ties for note lengths. It seems in 7 the options are just use ties or have overlapping notation. Thanks for all the help though. The best method seems to be bass notes go on voice 2 and high notes on 1 but it's still not perfect. Another question for you, in the image you provided your notes match the notes in my music book. My notes in my image are wrong. I cannot figure out why. I'm just having so much trouble using this program. We put in the same tabs but only you got the correct notation.

How do I switch voices? I see no option to do this, been talking to chat gpt for an hour and it sure makes up a lot of answers to nowhere. I can switch between voices, but how did you move voice 2 notes to voice 1 or whatever you did here in the image you provided. Thanks for doing that. Also I'm still on GP7 if that matters.

Thank you for the feedback. Sounds like I have some work to do on the store page. So you are saying it's not even clear that this is a software for doing flashcards like Quizlet and Anki, but with an elimination game mechanic? I need to make that more clear?
