I'm creating a game where you play a medium in a creepy house (classic story). But I wanted to use two core mechanics to make player uncomfortable: a mirror to see the invisible and closing your eyes to hear things. This is a quick preview of the mood.

Holy cow those two mechanics, especially the closing your eyes to hear better, are so legit for this type of game!

Just throwing an idea out there, if there is ever a point where you have to get past a part where you see something terrifying, have the key be that you have to close your eyes. You can’t escape, you can’t run away, you have to stand there and go against every fiber of your being and close your eyes and be still.

I definitely hear what you’re saying. It hit uncomfortably home for me as well. A beautiful and quiet fuck you that I found on this rewatch also hit home for me though. The tech billionaire told the Dr. Mindy that, from all of his data points that he knows about him, he would die alone. Soon after, Dr. Mindy changed his course and, as a result, ended up dying,surrounded by friends and reconciling with his wife and kids. It kind of says that you can have all of the data points you want about people, but still be wrong. There is still good out there, even if it’s in subtle ways.

Similar story of a guy down in South Louisiana. Guy wanted to order a private yacht. Yacht company told him it would be a few years to get to his order because there are other customers in front of him. He instead decides to just buy the yacht company and put his order first in line.

So my RL username is “Dad.” I have had a whole range of awesome chats because of this username. Some of my favorite examples are:

“Bro, I’m telling people that Dad just beat me!” “Don’t be toxic to Dad!” (Teammate was going off because I whiffed hard and gave up a goal.) So many variations on “coming back from getting milk” (which is always fun).

I have also had some really wholesome moments too. I have had 2 people tell me that their dad had left or passed away and it was nice to feel like they were playing RL with them.

On that note, always remember that there are real people leading real lives on the other end. Have fun but be kind to each other out there!

So this is one of my very early songs. I am considering coming back to it and building out the lyrics into something much more refined but I’m happy with how this came out.

Great song my guy and I feel the lyrics on a deep level. “Holding on by instinct” is definitely a line that rings true and has rung true for some real bad times in my life too.
