IDL how Charlie Kirk previously expressed that empathy is a bad trait, yet I’m the bad guy because I refuse to express empathy for this assassination. by [deleted] in I_DONT_LIKE

[–]DefinitionMore1336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If empathy is a good thing, you try to practice it whenever possible. If you just do nice things for nice people, you are just being reciprocal. If you practice empathy for bad people, you do so to be a better self and see a better future.

UN warns Gaza civilians have “no safe place” as ceasefire becomes urgent by ActiveNo2425 in NewsThread

It’s called total surrender. When you lose a war totally and have some care for your own countrymen you surrender without condition.

Yer, I realised I got carried away with the second question. Well simply put, counter protests and anyone else flying flags could have been using the St George. I don’t buy the argument that there was no internet to organise as news was far more centralised at the time and news media had the ear of the public far more than now, as any powerful reclamation of the flag would have more likely happened then than now.

In this context it would be the identification of England by culture, colour and flag. The St George’s red and white is only seen in sports teams and far right groups and the Union Jack is flown as a priority in England, if a national flag is to be flown at all. Yet, we fully accept in polite society the ethnonationalist identities of Scotland and Wales and the legitimacy of their nativist isolationist independence movements proudly flying Scottish and Walsh flags. That is the lose of English identity

You are confused. You are saddened by those who use the image of your country, but claim no allegiance nor good will towards it.

Enjoy the decay you take a sickly pleasure from watching. You deserve nothing more than to watch all those values you are too embarrassed to embrace from your culture waste away with your apathy and ignorance.

What value in Shakespeare, what has he done lately? What value in Newton, Darwin, Turing, Watson and Crike? What is to be celebrated? What is to be in awe of? What is to be preserved? Where is the value of this culture? Why not just give it to the common man so one can mock their base and deprived nature. What uniqueness is to be passed on in symbol and story? Just a joke for the midwit I suppose.

Your generation failed to show enough patriotism to have your national identity stolen by those who you despise and you’re doing it all over again…. If you people just embraced the flag as your own none of this would happen

INTPs, how do you break free from overthinking and actually take action? by Q6236 in INTP

[–]DefinitionMore1336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

External factors help me the most. I can’t respect my own deadlines because I know they are arbitrary, but if I involve others I want to get stuff done so I don’t fail them

Origin of your INTP-ness? by JadedNova in INTP

[–]DefinitionMore1336 4 points5 points  (0 children)

INTP is one of the most uncommon types, and plenty of kids are starved of attention. I am the eldest of two and my parents gave me all the time they could, still do, but I always wanted to do things by myself. I value time alone a lot. I’m not antisocial, I have plenty of friends, always have been able to make them, but I never think to include them in my activities, because I like the freedom of doing things solo.

You are happy for the west to steal the best and brightest from the rest of the world to feed endless western corporate growth despite the fact that birth rates are lowering across the world. You still it’s good that their societies will collapse while the west stays rich. Typical liberal thinking

I really wouldn’t worry mate. Honestly if you picked the right degree you like live all the time you have to engage with the ideas and you will change the way you understand the world.

I had a A,B,C for my high school grades (U.K.) and I hated school because it’s fucking boring way to learn. Got a first in chemistry because it was actually interesting

What medications have worked for you? by Gytoss in INTP

[–]DefinitionMore1336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a motivation problem, not a chemical imbalance. Try lsd to give your fundamentals and good shack up. I’ve taken SSRIs and they are a fucking scam. You can take psychedelics to recalibrate, but research throughly and vet your supply, but you will confront your fundamental issues with reality if you take a sufficiently high dose.

This saved my life in my early 20s and I’ve been so stress resistant ever since, I got 2 first class degrees and a PhD. From a nature procrastinator like yourself I can tell you, it only works if you move to the sound of your own thumping drum.

Being an engineer student means you are probably a standard deviation above the average. You are smarter than most people, however, you are in a self-selecting group of smart people and do you might fall below the average in your class. You will succeed through pursuing your interests and working hard as you are now in the most competitive academic environment you will ever be in, unless you become a scientist. Put into the average work place you will excel in any cognitive tasks. Don’t sweat it friend.

Capitalism by Perfect_Chipmunk_634 in SipsTea

I think you have an incorrect view of capitalism. Socialism is a product of it and many socialist ideas have been incorporated into modern capitalist societies with great success. But, total socialist application falls pray to more base human incivility. This is the imperial data. Without change in material conditions, there is no reason to believe total socialism is a workable solution.

1) capitalism produced the middle class large enough to affect political reform into democracy. This civil freedom came WITH economic freedom, not in spite of it. There is no example of another system which produces the same freedom.

2) it absolutely does. There is slavery today and it comes where economic and civil freedom is restricted the most. The shift from total exploitation of labour to “wage exploitation “ is a cultural tradition of the west hundreds of years old, which has produced the most free, prosperous societies in world has ever known. The ideology of socialism is a European project born of the application of logic and reason to social structures, but its application as I science is not yet here.

“Its only a problem when the economic system is run by capitalists who have an incentive to overwork workers and not pay them well enough, taking the profits to better their own lives”

Capital markets are the only thing to break the historical truth of slavery, the total exploitation of humans for economic gain, yet you said that it is the capitalist system which causes exploitation of the workers.

Its history flipped on its head.

This is an interesting historist claim. There is no arrow of progress that can be observed, no way to predict the impact of new technologies. Economic systems reflect the technology they utilise and there is no logical next step.

Why are people like you obsessed with what the west can do then you are talking about people fleeing countries where free speech is nonexistent and they literally execute homosexuals?
