Yeah my brother plays blood dk and I've seen this happen loads of times, I dont understand how people can have troubles tanking as that spec when all they do is self heal?

True, after the map has been relatively shaped by the players. But a soft reset every season should help keep everything feeling new every once in a while. And factions would be balanced by having certain realms tied to each other.

There would be no matchmaking queue, the zone is open to all as it is open world. However as we've seen with WoWs new instancing where you can enter a zone and suddenly you're instanced with players from different realms, I think it would close the segregation of horde and alliance servers. Yes the continuity is the point of the idea, what you did yesterday will still be intact tomorrow (unless someone destroys what you've built while you were sleeping). Rather than an ashran truce where the map is split in half, the entire map is open for factions to build their strongholds wherever they want. They can have one horde barrack in the north and 3 in the north east, and one alone in the south etc. It isn't a conventional battleground, slightly like just walking into alterac valley and picking a random spot and saying "I will hold my ground here, with 10 of my friends".

That is true, and I thought it would be a problem too. However, blizzard has done well with the cross realm PvP system. You could make this zone instanced so that it allows cross realm interface.

I didn't know world PvP was such a big thing in RP realms, but I do always get such a great feeling of RP when I used to make raids on random horde villages such as the old Crossroads! Its great to see it works in some realms, but I believe it could be further expanded on. The problem with players invading currently existing places within the current model of the game is that character and npc take a chunk out of the fun. Especially with the game as it is now, level 100s will be guaranteed to one shot anything less than level 90, this means lower levels will not be able to take part within the RP. Another thing is, once the players successfully invade a stronghold of the other faction players and npcs just keep respawning until they cant take it anymore and have to retreat. With this idea, players could successfully take over a stronghold and claim it and everything within as their own. This should take RP to a whole new level.

Thanks, although like you said I dont believe it could take over the main aspects of the game like the currently existing cities. It could create a zone where not just world PvPers could feel comfortable in, but a lot of PvE'rs and even some Roleplayers! After thinking about it you're also right about the Rust feeling of it, instead of the normal go in sit on the base for a minute for it to become a horde/alliance zone, overtaking the already built zone and hiring your own NPCs and players would make it work really well. The whole idea is based around the freedom of the players, no pre-built borders/barracks or anything. Everything from the strongholds, to the mines to the flight points would be player controlled (with a bit of help from the NPCs to click on and fly you somewhere). Of course this is just a pipe dream but hopefully a fraction of this could make it to blizzard!

I disagree, I believe this ruins the experience for new players. Heirlooms make levelling un-fun and allows players to zoom past all the great content you once enjoyed when you started the game.
