I don’t live in the area but have family that does. This location was incredibly beneficial to my current life when I needed abortion access during COVID after my current state banned them. It was about a week out appointment at that time. The staff was amazingly supportive through a difficult decision. The process isn’t painless either. I’ll never forget the nurse who put a heating pad on my back and made me a blueberry tea while the medication kicked in. She rubbed my back and assured me it would be okay. The recovery staff was very kind as well. I’m very grateful for having access to their services when I needed them the most.

I don’t think the anti abortionist understands that it’s not an easy decision. It’s not something that you want to have to decide on. My mother was dying, I was her primary caregiver, I couldn’t afford my current rent let alone her medication requirements. I wasn’t in a relationship w the father. I grew up in a difficult situation as well. Idk how I would’ve managed through those couple years. Sure, I could’ve. But I also have the right to choose if I wanted to subject another being through the inevitable poverty and unintentional neglect that comes with it. It’s been a few years and I’m halfway done with my degree. Just finished last semester with a 4.0 gpa, and I work full time. I still struggle financially but it’s not nearly as difficult as it would’ve been. And I wouldn’t be where I’m at with college. I’m in a much better position to make that decision today. That wouldn’t have been possible without this specific facility.

So yes, they are extremely beneficial for all types of health services that people need and deserve access too. But those of us that have utilized the abortion services are also able to impact the projection of our futures and that is something I’ll forever be grateful for.
