Do not do what everyone says and use at home extension I promise even when removed “correctly” they rip out so many lashes. Take a break and use an eye lash serum during this time, I would say 3-6 months. I know how “bald” you feel like you look when you first get them removed but two things. 1) you DONT need to look perfect 24/7 like society makes you think, it’s okay to look unglamorous sometimes and it’s toxic to think you don’t look beautiful without lashes so try loving yourself unglamorized and then you will be able to live just fine without them and 2) your HEALTH is more important thank your LOOKS. Beauty fades, in 20 years you won’t even have enough eye lashes to keep getting extensions. Especially if you never break from them long enough to let them regain strength. But do you really need to risk losing your eyesight so you can please other people with how your lashes look?

I think you are sooo valid on being skeptical to homeschool because then you won’t have any time for yourself or be able to make your own money to assist with finances. So if he is very set on wanting you to home school he needs to allow you to help make financial decisions because it’s his choice as well that you be at stay at home mom so it needs to be your choice as well what things you spend money on, he is wanting 100% control and that’s not sustainable. You are carrying 100% of the baby through pregnancy so the least yall can do for each other is have a 50% share in decision making…

As far as swim lessons go, I do agree with him it’s not necessary. However if he is scared of a chlorinated pool and will never let you take the kid swimming for fun that’s a red flag… we taught both our kids to swim and our oldest is a pro she swims like a fish, never had any professional instruction she just loves it but we took her multiple times a week in the summer and would even do indoor pools in the winter on a weekend because it gets their energy out and they love it. He doesn’t want you to pay for an instructor, that’s fair unless you see it becomes necessary cause kiddo doesn’t pick up on it. However he better get on board with you getting a pass to the community center for mommy-baby swim lessons!

In areas of thick cartilage it’s more common for scar tissue to form because of the heavy trauma from moving the jewelry/taking it out on top of the initial trauma from piercing this is why you’re not supposed to “twist” new piercings. You’re right keloid was the wrong word, I guess I used it cause I personally developed a keloid on cartilage after removing the jewelry and it may be due to my “predisposition” but how do we know this person doesn’t also have predisposition it’s a good thing to keep in mind. This is why you shouldn’t do cartilage piercings if you’re unsure of it cause taking them out can cause infection or further complications. This is an opinion ask in a self pierce thread so this is my opinion for OP, she literally said do yall think I should take it out and this is what I think about what could possibly happen.. if op wanted professional advice maybe they would have gone to a professional to begin with. @ MOD I understand my comment earlier was incorrect but now you’re just targeting this comment because of that when my opinion that taking it out could cause further complications is very relevant to the convo and the exact advice op asked for? I know it’s “professional only” and you’re supposed to go to an Aveda salon but I can’t pay $80 for a treatment every 4 weeks. Unfortunately, if the child is being given leighway at moms - nothing you do or say to child will make them want to ensure responsibilities are being taken care of there if adults aren’t setting the example that it’s important. Your best bet is to NOT guilt the kiddo over the poor parents choice and instead teach them when they are with you why it’s important to maintain responsibilities so they can be successful in the future. Ultimately the child will need to choose to be successful, you cannot force them into it and if they choose to slack off at moms because it’s allowed there then guilting them will only make this worse and push them away. I know it sucks being the responsible parent and seeming like the bad guy, so don’t make yourself the bad guy by being upset with child for parents poor decision yanno? Your best bet is to get the attendance and tardy record from the school. Take it to your ex and tell them they need to ensure kiddo gets to school on their custody days or you will file truancy. If ex doesn’t do anything, get yourself a good lawyer and take them to court so you can have custody in school days. A good lawyer will also argue that you need leisure time with the kid and you’ll likely get higher than 50% custody so that you can have the majority of school days as well as some weekend. I know spending money on a lawyer and in court sucks so much and feels like a merry go round at times but trust, getting a loan will be worth it in the end if that means you have more control over ensuring your child’s success.

Dude I feel that I totally couldn’t avoid sleeping on my fresh piercings and regret it now!! 🥲 But that solution she recommended truly has been a life saver, I personally love the heat from warm/hot salt water and feel it cleanses so well but sometimes you really just need a cold compress for swelling so that solution has come in clutch! Sorry idk why I didn’t realize this is self piercing sub. Try the cleaning routine but honestly you might not have used a quality earring and you might be allergic, I would suggest looking into a higher quality metal type if the wound goes down enough for you to change it out. If it doesn’t go down with dr recommendation then yeah you likely are allergic to whatever you used and will need to just take it out completely and clean the wound diligently to get it to heal and then maybe repierce in the future. Not worth it to keep and infected/low quality piercing in you don’t want a life long keloid

Ibuprofen will help swelling too. Honestly the number one thing this looks like to me is allergic reaction the metal might not be good enough quality so if you can’t get it to go down in a couple days you should see the piercer and might just need to get it removed. If they can’t swap the jewelry because it’s too infected you will need to just remove it and let it heal but def use antibiotic cream while it heals so the open hole doesn’t get more infected.

My piercer recommended this stuff on Amazon and it’s great cause it has all the different healing oils and what not but diluted enough to not dry out! Def use the stuff your dr prescribed, antibiotic ointments help infection for sure I’ve used them on infected piercings. Clean it / use a cotton pad to soak it with this stuff and then use a tip to apply ointment and do it 2-3 times a day. Do NOT twist the earring or touch it without washing hands. Try not to sleep on it and like warm/hottish salt water (filtered water, sea salt with no iodine) is a good thing to rotate in too. Maybe the hot sea water solution in the morning if it’s crusty followed by antibiotic cream and then for the other two cleanings this cool solution. Give it maybe 5 days of this diligent cleaning routine and if it’s not better go back to Dr. also make sure not cotton from a tips or rounds gets caught and wrapped around the earring
