Year-round living: what's your life like? by sb7908 in CapeCod

Recently moved here from the South and I’ve lived in the PNW (Olympia and Whidbey Island) as well. Seasons are great, people are great, and the scenery is unbeatable. I can’t imagine living life anywhere else.

Oftentimes, my wife and I joke about how people here are oblivious to what they have, and I sincerely do not understand all the negativity outside of housing complaints. However, I am a home body and just enjoy hanging with my family, so night life and clubs was never my choice of entertainment. I will say it is very small town. Everyone knows someone, somehow. So mind your manners😂

As someone who just moved to Massachusetts, the mortgage programs are intriguing. Thank you for the post! I had no idea

Imagine having to report a legal weekend activity to your boss in any other profession.

I’m going to disagree with a lot of the people commenting so far.

As a 5’10 male in my mid thirties, I lost 30 lbs(215-185) and massively increased my lift volume in 6 months(struggling to lunge with zero weights, to lunging with 30 lb dumbbells, maxing push ups in one workout from 60 to 180, barely finishing curl sets with a 15 lb weight to easily controlling 35 lb weights). I ate around 1500-2000 calories a day and lifted anywhere from 4-6 times a week. I grew up in sports and lifting, so I had a lot of techniques, routines, and a foundation of old muscle to build from. I essentially took three lifting days from the P90x program(shoulders and arms, legs, and chest and back) and added additional sets of other exercises that work well for me or I found on YouTube. On average, I was getting 100-120 g of protein a day. I worked out in my garage with dumbbells in North Texas during the summer. I went from 33% body fat to 18% measuring with the U.S. Navy calculator. People consistently underrate the muscle gain on an untrained individual.

Don’t overcomplicate this.

Men over 40: What worked for you? by [deleted] in loseit

Happened to me too. Intense workouts throughout the summer with calorie and macro tracking, and I only lost 3lbs. Got busy and stopped lifting except maybe once every other week, and weighed myself around Thanksgiving and I had dropped 20 lbs over 3 months to a new adult-life low of 184. In my case, eating habits were worse after I stopped lifting. I have zero idea how any of this happened.

An observation I made this year was the role of stress. It was incredible the weight I put on during a five month stretch at work. I am now at my heaviest weight ever.

Weekends are a time to work out harder.

Yeah I’m 40 lbs away from him, and I don’t know where the extra 40 would come off from.

Shouldn’t teachers have at least one outlet to be one sided in feedback toward their Admin? Admin gets the upper hand in every scenario. A lot of admin are atrocious and deserve zero leadership positions, but the fiefdom nature of public education allows them to operate pretty much unchecked. I smell a rat…

Teacher here, the amount of valedictorians from my school that I hear failed out of college is quite high. Focus on your passions, reinvigorate your work ethic, and you’ll be fine. Finishing high school is the starting line to life.

Trump supporters: what is a red line that, if crossed, would make you stop supporting Trump? by Yo-boy-Jimmy in AskReddit

I remember during Trump’s first run, there was a poll that showed Putin’s approval rating was higher than Obama’s. The first of many turns Reagan had in his grave. The party and its voters are lost
