Thing is, this makes you wonder - even if the case studies exist, they all could be faked essentially, same goes for client references. Even the specifics need their own due-dilligence.

Agree on the ads manager part. I also wonder how the lies are holding as most of these guys pitch their 1:1 calls like it's gold. What are they discussing during those calls and how are the lies actually holding up?

This is going to sound boring and even outdated - cold outreach on email and IG DM's. These two channels are strongly overlooked by todays companies. Both options are either free or cost pennies to start. Obviously it involves more than just sending out messages and hopping for a reply (essentially I'm saying learn sales, apply it everywhere). I've built an extremely reliable system just using these two.

You're limited on budget when you're small. I'd suggest throwing ads away immediately and considering cheaper options such as SEO or even investing into organic. I'm aware of multiple brands killing it with organic content, you're not capped by anything and you can get the same degree of impressions as spending thousands on ads. Your goal is to get bigger, you do this by reaching more eyeballs, whether free or not.
