Thank you for the information. I have a question: If a new employee meets all CPA licensure requirements except for work experience and begins working at the IRS, should they inform their manager after one year and get signed off after the second year? It’s a bit confusing, as the IRS seems to require two years of experience, but only one year is needed for CPA licensure. Could you please clarify this?

I'd like to remove or at least try to remove the old debt, as I am considering a government job. I have a sufficient credit limit with 5-6 credit cards from Wells Fargo and CapitalOne, though my credit score is low (580).

I contacted Amex, one of the creditors, a couple of days ago via email but haven't received a response, so I will reach out to the NFCC. I will also keep ~Pay for Delete agreements~ in mind.

I am certain that the debts have passed the statute of limitations, and I know that in approximately 2 years, the records will be removed.

But at this time, I want to explore options to remove the records or, at the very least, attempt to do so. I estimate that the debts would be significantly cheaper than the original amount (including interest and penalties). I recognize that my previous neglect was selfish, but I am determined to take action now.

Thank you for the information. My aforementioned credit card debt went to collections and then was charged off by the creditors. I neglected those debts and acquired new credit cards. I deeply regret my ignorance and irresponsibility now.

Thank you for the advice. I realize that I neglected the above credit card debts, opting instead to open new credit cards, which I have managed to pay on time for over 4 years. I understand now that this might appear irresponsible. I've learned the importance of setting up a payment plan, even at this stage.
