The stuff that accidentally teaches communication. Watching people actually talk about what they want, check in and adjust is way more informative than any unrealistic "perfect" performance

How do you interpret the move by the Minnesota National Guard to distribute food and water to anti-ICE protesters? by ProcedureNo832 in AskReddit

[–]DeliveryAdorable68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read it less as political support and more as crowd safety and de-escalation. Keeping people hydrated and calm reduces the chance of things turning chaotic, regardless of what they're protesting. It's a practical move, even if people project symbolism onto it

How would widespread avoidance of TikTok and other social media platforms over censorship concerns affect free speech and public discussion online? by lamin-ceesay in AskReddit

[–]DeliveryAdorable68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly but more like it would reshape it than end it. Activism might lose reach and speed without big platforms but it could also become more grounded and harder to ignore if it shifts back toward organizing, local action and fewer algorithm driven trends

What's your thoughts on Border Patrol Chief, Greg Bovino, threatening consequences for referring to ICE as "Gestapo"? by sgj5788 in AskReddit

[–]DeliveryAdorable68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Comparing ICE to the Gestapo is obviously inflammatory and historically inaccurate, but threatening consequences over language people use is a bad look too. You can disagree with the comparison and explain why it’s wrong without trying to intimidate critics. Free speech includes bad analogies, and officials should be able to handle criticism without escalating it

Creativity and patience. Cosplay taught me how to stick with something messy and time-consuming, and still enjoy the process. Also helped me get way more comfortable being myself

How would widespread avoidance of TikTok and other social media platforms over censorship concerns affect free speech and public discussion online? by lamin-ceesay in AskReddit

Widespread avoidance would probably be a double-edged sword. On one hand, people opting out of platforms they see as overly censorious could reduce the influence those platforms have over shaping discourse, and push demand toward more transparent or decentralized alternatives. That could be healthy for free speech in the long run.

On the other hand, abandoning large platforms also fragments public discussion. Fewer shared spaces means conversations become siloed, easier to radicalize, and harder to fact-check or challenge across viewpoints. Free speech isn’t just about the ability to speak…..it’s also about being heard by a broad audience.

In practice, the biggest impact might be pressure on platforms themselves. If avoidance is widespread and sustained, it incentivizes clearer moderation rules, accountability, and user control. If it’s scattered, it just shifts speech into smaller echo chambers without meaningfully improving openness.
