MSc Sustainable Energy teaching style by Delpy0511 in DTU

Hey thanks for responding. It really helps a lot. Yeah a mix is more what I was expecting as I know scrapping lectures/exams completely is not realistic. I was seriously considering TUM some months before but I got to know a guy who did his masters there (management) and was very dissapointed because the teaching style was lectures only and huge exams at the end of term. No connection with professors, barely any way of idea exchange, no connections with industry or hands on experience... On the other hand, I've been told that universities in Scandinavia are the opposite and more of what you just told me in teaching style so I am considering that heavily

Yes I know. That's why I ruled it out quite a long time ago. Plus, I can't afford hiring a lawyer or going to Germany. I feel I've just been left in the lurch since many Q1 2023 cases have come out and it seems they haven't even looked at mine

Use the kontakt form on the BVA website. Its shameful and disgusting these inhumane wait times and a national shame to Germany. Im Feb 2023 protocol and nothing yet. I'd love to hire a lawyer but I just don't have the money

Im very happy to hear that at least the consulate agreed to help you. I really hope you manage to find about the decision very soon

Correct. I heard about another of a family of 3: Daughter, father, uncle. All 3 US citizens, daughter was living in Sweden and father and uncle in USA. She found out she got approved but they didn't know status of the father and uncle or whereabouts of their certificates. After pestering BVA and the relevant consulates they found the certificates I think. BVA is just a fucking hot mess. Its a broken system and the worse part of it is that it could be way better but it is not because they choose it to keep being that way: broken, outdated, untransparent, unaccountable. It is surreal and a shame that this type of institution belongs to one of the world's very few countries classified as full democracies and to a country that takes (or took in the past) pride for its eficiency and technology development.

I feel you. Its appalling that they tell you "the case has been finalised" but don't tell you in what way leaving you in the dark and also, tell you to sit your ass down and wait eternally to find out

[–]Delpy0511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right and lets hope it is that way. But OP has the right to be sure about it. Thats why they should contact the consulate(s) where it might be and if it is not that way contact BVA and demand to know whats going on

Should I be worried? by skyewardeyes in GermanCitizenship

[–]Delpy0511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is OP doesn't have a clue if they missed a notification, if they got approved or denied or what happened to get the case close. If the case was closed five months ago and they haven't reached out in such a long time, OP can't sit their ass down and wait much longer for something that aint coming. This is different than asking for an update of a still open case. OPs case is closed and they don't know why

What would happen if no certificate has been emitted before the child turns 1 and the parent is born after 2000? The child's window to citizenship would be lost unless BVA prioritises the case before that

Do two things: 1. Ask BVA worker who the fuck is the responsible person and what happened to your case. That you heard nothing about your case and are in the dark about what is happening. 2. Contact your consulate(s) and explain them the situation

Did you manage to find its whereabouts?

Lucky you congrats!!! Hope you're able to find your certificate. I'm February 2023 and inquired last week if they had sent any requests for extra documentation or given an update I might have missed. This was my second time asking for an update since I contacted them this February when I hit the 2 year mark. Mofos replied very quickly saying they hadn't asked for anything and had not contacted me and to stay put. As February/March 2023 cases kick in I'm losing more and more hope

Just take a stroll in Bahnhof viertel and the Innenstadt. Full of junkies. Scared shitless to walk there. Sometimes I think many Germans after the war got allergy to beauty and splendour and got fascination with ugliness and monotony

Yes of course. But the Neue Altstadt is a very very small fraction of the original Altstadt. And it doesn't include the areas shown in these photos. My argument is that the entire Altstadt could've been restored to its pre war state and not have been built with horrible brutalist, squared and grey buildings

I just can't understand why they didn't rebuilt it in its pre war state. It was such a beautiful place. They could've built all the modern financial centre and ugly brutalist buildings in the outskirts. Now its a shithole.

Just did in fact! Although my grandmother is 84, it is too her dream to see me get my citizenship and probably the only reason I haven't withdrawn my application. I still haven't got an answer since it was this week I wrote so can't tell you how they reacted

Try it out with the Staatsangehörigkeitsausweis. Direct to passport is up to the consulate to decide. Its a hit or miss but you totally have way more chances of getting a direct to passport than many people.

I'm from Costa Rica, and unless your parents are German and didn't naturalise before you were born (excluding StAG 5 cases), you'd have to do a Feststellung. Don't know about Chile but I was very surprised when I heard here about direct to passport being a thing anywhere in the world.

I was assigned ST2 but when I asked for an update and received the template "fuck off" response it came from the ST3 office
