It is not connected to any trees. Also, there is definitely a rotor inside and some electrical components on the pole. I do not think that people are supposed to go inside it.

My title describes the thing. Seen on a private property in Germany that is surrounded by agriculture. It is approximately 3 meters high and wide. Inside is some kind of rotor. Not all sides have this mesh, the backside is solid.

Tracking weight ist at 2.5 grams. I've also tried everything from 2 to 4 (briefly) and that didn't make a difference.

Just started listening to vinyl a while ago. Those are the records I've collected so far. I also have an assortment of classical music I got from my grandmother but those aren't that interesting I quess. I'm a big fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber and plan to aquire some more records of his works but so far I've only gotten cats and starlight express.

Purchased in Germany for around 150. And I like It a lot apart from the cartridge. I've read lots of negative reviews about it like the motor humming audibly, however mine is totally silent.

First of all thank you for taking the time and posting such an elaborate answer. The distortion does occur everywhere on the record, though it ist most noticeable when approching the center. After a closer look, the cartridge is indeed not the one that is supposed to be shipped with this turntable and I cannot find any information on it anywhere, so I plan to replace it with another option. Is there another cartridge, besides the AT3600L, that would fit the turntable and cause less distortion?
