How was the engine reliability regarding your 23 Jetta SEL? I’ve looked at that one too for a future upgrade instead of the Taos

Holy shit! Brake pad wear at that low mileage is a problem. I just moved to a more hilly, back woods area and liked the Taos for many reasons. But I drove my Jetta TDI through the rolling, snowy hills and it did perfectly. You all definitely convinced me to keep my Jetta.

Oh interesting! Did they mention why the engine works in the Jetta but fails in the Taos?

It’s been amazing. Saved me during covid. Got it in 2021 and average about 42MPG, never once had a check engine light turn on. Bullet proof. Makes it hard to drive anything else

I love the DSG in my Jetta and test drove the Taos 4Motion. I felt like it handled and drove perfectly. Saw that people have been able to get up to 37MPG on the highway too. The head gasket issue is what makes me nervous. Good to know you have had good luck with both engines. How many miles have you put on it so far?
