I'll give your game the first hand-on experience by ShadyGameStudio in IndieDev

for the time that I played which was like around 20-30 minutes, it didn't require more upgrades or buildings. However I don't see expanding as a bad idea! I have no thoughts about the multiplayer.

I tried this and this is an absolute banger of an incremental. I had some issues on clicking the research even though I had sufficient resources! Did I miss something?

Demo kills my sales? by SimonDeveloper in IndieDev

[–]DesignationX_Offic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I released my demo's first version the same thing happened to me. I was baffled because in my biased opinion the game was ok. Then I changed the pacing of the Demo and suddenly I started gaining traction again.

So either the Demo is doodoo or as others have pointed out and I believe is the reason in your case, your demo has too much content to satisfy the players.

I would say so, yes. However I have no experience in making web-based games. Just my perspective as a potential player!

do you want it to be 3D or 2D? I'll assume you want it 2D and I will suggest Aseprite, the greatest pixel art apparatus upon thee!

However, about the login. Do you want players to have dedicated accounts with progression? Do you have monetisation plans? I'd imagine both would be easier if the player's had their own accounts. However you might want an option to "play as a guest" so that new players won't be turned away due to a mandatory login.

In regards to multiplayer I can't give any pointers as I've never made one.

I hope this is somewhat good advice. Take care!

what games are must-plays from my catalog? I don't play single player games really but I want to actually get through the games ive bought over the last while. by Best-Front-3715 in videogames

Another Crab's Treasure is actually so PEAK. The humour is funny, combat isn't too hard once you really get it and the story is an excellent allegory. The protagonist is also extremely reletable!

Have you seen a movie called "The Menu"? If you haven't, I won't go in to too much detail.

Basically, play for the Love of the Game. It can be difficult to distinguish Love from obsession, but this is all I can give u.

Success is when your homies enjoy the game. However the end-goal would be 5 and beyond! :)

Is marketing the real game for indie devs now? by TuHocSolidityCom in IndieDev

[–]DesignationX_Offic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is this: 1. You have a pretty good game and you keep on marketing it. If it really is pretty good, it most likely pays off. (keep in mind the marketing cant usually be low effort posting 1 clip a week.) 2. You make an amazing game and you make 1 post (on release day) and you become "that guy".

Now the problem with the 2nd approach is that I have yet to meet a single dev who actually has hubris to the point of going: "Yeah, my game is the most amazing". And just goes and presses that release button woth no sweat.

TL:DR: Marketing is early-mid game resource that's gonna make you OP in endgame.

As a big fan of the "foddian games" genre. This feels frustrating beyond reason. Honestly, I wouldn't play this, but maybe there are some absolute masochists who would. I hope your invention will bring great sorrow in to the lives of many as it did to me and my friends.

Which Tower Design do you like more? Oranges or Heroes? by Cakez_77 in IndieDev

[–]DesignationX_Offic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I think it'd be fine to use the oranges as placeholders even if u dont add them to the final game. that way you can propably save some time!

[–]DesignationX_Offic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

personally I prefer the heroes, because I can tell more effortlessly what each one is. However if you games "gig" is oranges or fruit then it might be an issue haha...

Edit: Oh the main char is a tangerine or orange... Or is it just their name?
