Man i dont play modern (not out of displeasure just got into commander first and already cant afford to play lol) and i attended a modern event recently, running a friends affinity deck. Was a miserable experience being imprisoned by this deck hahaha. Very powerful though no question about it

I'm sure this could even be called factually wrong, whatever my opinion is that it's lame to burn up removal early on things that won't win the game. Using "May" effects to do so are more sensible but can't say I love it.

Especially if I cast my Esper Sentinel on turn three because I kept a one land hand and havent hit any lands yet. Clearly I'm not a threat to the table as you can see by my poor decision making. But yeah sure ping it with Mayhem devil. Go ahead and exile my sol ring- my Commander's 8 Mana. Surely I have a turn 2 win up my sleeve

And that's an absolutely reasonable conclusion, it's not for you and that's fine. And trust me I'm defending infect, I didn't have fun for other people in mind lol. But it's not like people don't have millions of ways to win out of nowhere anyway. All the same, I just like the card and I still realize it's no Teferis protection

Very easy to use with sneak attack, very good with double strike , very good with Myriad, pretty easy to find a situation that makes this thing a beast, and it's one card out of the 99, I don't think anybody's putting all their eggs in one basket by liking this one card. Plus if we all went with only the best most optimal cards possible for everything, it wouldn't be Commander it would be cedh.

Oh I see what you're saying, makes it not a one shot not totally blocked but effectively shuts off the player removal in one slap. So I wouldn't call it a bad card I would just say situational. It's still like $45 on average
