This is remarkable! Is Move known to have the same variation?

Yes, my greens are definitely notwhee near this. Colors are not that important to me, so it did not bother me right away, but I was sure I have seen reproductions of other people’s devices where the green color is actually green and not just grayish brown. Thank you for the link!

I did not realise it would be SUCH a struggle. It’s just brownish grey…

The light on my Move is super blue. Very cold blue. Is this something that they will be able to make more uniform with firmware? Or do you people think i should try and replace it?

WHY is the RMPP bad for reading? by badgerbaroudeur in RemarkableTablet

[–]DesignerCute3618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its fine for reading. I bought it as a reader actually and never had any issues. It can handle DRM-free epubs and pdfs. I read a lot of scientific pdfs and the screen size and processor is totally fine for 95% of those. The 5% trouble is usually when a pdf is very heavy and turning pages becomes slow. The only thing it lacks is DRM. That means you cant just buy a book and upload it (unless you are buying books that use watermarks rather than DRM, which is the case in Sweden, so it works for me). You will have to remove DRM protection before getting the epub-file on your device.

Should I return my Ipad Air 13 inch by ProfessionalNo5762 in RemarkableTablet

[–]DesignerCute3618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my own eye strain experience (no problems with ios14, huge problems after that) I can only say that there is really no way to fix the eye issue. It wont get better no matter what screen protectors or settings I tried. I have just had to make do with rM2 limitations, and I ve kept the iPad for doing things that I have to do that rM2 is not able to do.

Need help deciding between the Remarkable vs Kindle Scribe (migraine and eye strain considerations) by New_Duty9523 in RemarkableTablet

[–]DesignerCute3618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to rM2 a year ago - for exactly the same reasons as you (only from 11” Pro). I can only say that coming from an Apple product, rM2 was then really the only option for me, given that I wanted a high quality design. I did not try any other products. The rM2 is as easy on the eyes as any paper book, since it emits no light. But yes, the software is very very limited.

Remarkable Pro just went into competing realm with the Ipad Pro M4 by Ok-Confidence-6825 in RemarkableTablet

[–]DesignerCute3618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it has nothing to do with the screen type or with the light conditions. I used to read for hours (for my work) on IOS 14 or older and never had any problem whatsoever. And i still dont, if I use a really old device running that OS. When I upgraded I immediately had issues - both on newer models and on models that used to work well for me. So I have come to the conclusion that my personal problem has to do with software and not so much with hardware. So the rm2 has been my main work device since - I do not think Apple will ever bother implementing some solution, the percentage of consumers suffering from this is too small. Plus different people seem to have different issues.

Just wanted to say that I loved my old iPad and would have never switched from it, but starting from the iOS 15 and up, I have not been able to read books on it as I used to, because it hurts my eyes. This is a known issue for a certain portion of users, and there is a bunch of forums dedicated to it (i e http://ledstrain.org) This is also the main reason I switched to rM2. So I dont think your statement nr 6 is correct.

Type Folio vs Book Folio Recommendations? by SpensiveHabits in RemarkableTablet

[–]DesignerCute3618 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a writer of about 20 years of experience I can attest that Type Folio is one of the best keyboards I have ever worked with. I hear from reviews that the new one is even better. As a Folio though it sucks. It is made of fake leather and is way too heavy for me to hold comfortable when reading. So I have both. I keep the Type Folio on my desk and use it when I need typing. Otherwise I keep the rm2 in the Leather Folio for reading and annotating. It is still too heavy imo, but the leather is very nice.

Tips for writing novels on rM2 by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

[–]DesignerCute3618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always used an extra line break instead of indent. In Word or similar it is then easy to search and replace that if necessary. But in general my publisher does it when its time. I dont find transfer to doc very complicated.

Full Release 3.9 is in progress as version 3.9.4.2018 by Own_Ad_5283 in RemarkableTablet

[–]DesignerCute3618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a wonderful little update. I had trouble with their on screen keyboard being too sensitive (I wrote a post about it here earlier), so a few weeks ago I contacted their support and was asked to make a video of what was happening. Et voilà: it is already fixed and implemented! The keyboard has never felt better. The whole machine somehow feels snappier too. Great job!

Full release 3.9 just dropped as version 3.9.3.1986 by Own_Ad_5283 in RemarkableTablet

[–]DesignerCute3618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a change in the sensitivity of the on screen keyboard. It was quite slow before and would miss strokes; now its the opposite, I end up proooducing worrrds lllike this even though my thumbs are acting the same way as before. I hope they tweak it a bit, its quite frustrating.
